Subject: Halo 4 Precursor-gravemind theory

@accordingto343

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

1. The planet is a Shield World: There are many flaws with this statement. Every Shield World we have seen has been covered with natural environments on it. This sphere lacks that. The "portal" wee see in the teaser is also nothing like the entrances to the Shield World we've seen.

2. The Flood hitched a ride on the Dawn: Besides not being shown to occur on Halo 3, this is also impossible. Why would the Gravemind wait around to make a deal with the Chief when he could've taken the Dawn and left the Ark? That and Mendicant Bias would never allow the Flood to get off the Ark though the Ark Portal. He was controlling it's coordinates.

3. I accept the Gravemind is the Timeless One, but you need to provide more evidence than a single quote.

1. That is interesting, but still perhaps it is a different variation of shield world

2.Seeing that we do not know his intentions we cannot say. And it is not impossible I explained how it is possible.

3. Well before you said that my quote convinced you.

We are all going to get banned aren't we?

Um anybody that knows anything about the flood would know what his intentions would be and the ship wouldn't be there.

Um your quote didn't convince him. Others thought this months ago and I am the one that pulled a string of evidence.

which is why he is asking you for more than one line

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

1. The quote you are referring to was supposed to say wouldn't convince me, I misspelled.

2. Fist off, your scenario screams with inaccuracy. Why would Sentinels attack Chief? In Halo Wars, they guided the SoF to the SW. In Ghosts of Onyx, they try to talk with a Spartan-III, but their augmentation that allowed them to keep fighting when they should be dead messed up their brains and did not register as Human.

Second, I ask again, how did such a sizable force smuggle it's way onto the Dawn with no detection? Give me an explaination of that.

Im txgrim4 (Grim, Grimmy, Grimsta), i have been playing xboxlive for 9 years, evr since day 1 of Halo:CE til now. I love H2, that and Halo 1 are my favs. Im a Halologist when it comes to the Bungie/Halo Universe. Ive also played Marathon Series, ONI, and Myth Series. I live in Texas, Play Football, and cant wait for Halo 4!

@John

John, as for your saying that the Gravemind "converts" or "Turns" into the Precursor. Thats wrong

The theory is that while the last precursor was locked up, supposivley i think the flood came, forerunners and flood battle, the flood infect the place, the precursor inhales/exposed to too much flood bio stuff 9whatever its called) and the precursor is infected becoming the gravemind.

Dont have the theory with me but thats what i read.

@grey101. lol i understand

1st off, look up the word ignorant, because if anything, Grey is not ignorant.

Secondly, there is no way the Flood could get onto the FuD. Why? MB had Chief's back and could most likely stop the Flood. There was also an army of sentinals between the Flood and FuD

Thirdly, you need to understand what the Onyx Shield World was used for.

Lastly, txgrim4z, by the time MC reached HC, the Gravemind had grown so great in size that he was basically High Charity itself.

Yes, we're ignorant for asking you to provide actual evidence, not "It's possible" as evidence.

Love you Bungie...

3. Okay well then help me to find connection so I can revise my theory. They talk similar and they both called themselves timeless. That is not proof but thats evidence

He made that part up in his theory I don't understand how that is fact lol lol lol fargatard

Dont't use Halo Wikias as sources, and if you do, always be sure to check the citations to be sure the info is correct.

Looking for a group of people to play customs with.

I don't think so because that would mean that most of the campaign will take place in a ship and that would suck.

Halo,its finished.
No,I think we are just getting started.
:D

Hey john,I like how you are trying to find the plot of Halo 4.Also I think you put your theory up a little too soon.The key to finding out about Halo 4,Lies in the previous games and the books.You should go back and get some more information.Personally I don't think the flood will be a threat that appears at the beginning of Halo 4.I know what its like to have everyone against you but I have to say in this thread you just kept saying the same thing citing what little information you had to begin with.My advice is that I think you can formulate a good theory about this but you need to get some more research.A BIG thing!!!Look back at your theory at this thread and try too see things from another persons point of view.I know that YOU understand your theory,but these others guys don't understand it...So don't give them a reason to you have get a lot of past halo information and condense it into a new theory.But this time you need to have a certain amount of common sense.For instance nothing survives in space...If you to me to believe you than you need to give me reasons...Things we have all seen in halo.NOT maybes and what-ifs those things are for after you can back it up with a lot of info.I could help you with a theory if you want,but you seriously need to get some evidence...you do have evidence but people need more than a quote...Next time try to link things like quotes-and suttle hints in cutscenes-and then back it up with something from one of the halo books.This is how you provide evidence you find all the small things and find out how they connect...you connect all of them and provide solid back up for your theory.Thats called proof.You can't just expect them to believe you...you need to put a lot of work into it.

~~Chills Pills~~

Precursors are described as "very large", with 4 upper limbs and 2 legs. Also having an "ugly head shaped like arthropods" - like spiders or crabs - they have oval, faceted slanted eyes and a "flat face". Coming from the back of the head is a long tail with a 2 meter barb coming out of it. Whether this is the way all Precursors look has yet to be revealed, but this is the way the prisoner on a Pre-Human world is described.

^^Cryptum^^

Op, please explain to us all how the Gravemind is similar to the "last" Precursor in any way?

go here, read whole evidence post, its all great legit evidence to this discussion. BUT it dosent state this...

The last precursor while locked up was infected when the flood came by inhaling/exposed to too much bio fumes, etc... becoming the gravemind

  • 08.21.2011 6:56 AM PDT

Precursors are the Flood. Yes I'm still sticking with that theory.

@anish panchalin

Gameplay is not canon. I'm also confident that sentinels can successfully combat the flood because if the Foreruners built them to combat the galaxy's most terrifying enemy, then I'm sure they were effective.

So you're saying gameplay is completely non-canon?? If Bungie put that many sentinels in the warthog run, its because there were that many sentinels there according to canon (and Bungie made canon at the time).and just because the forerunners built something for a purpose, doesn't necessarily mean that the built thing will carry it out effectively.

The forerunners built ships, fighters, fortresses and had sentinels on installations but did they ever halt the flood? No they did not, which is why they activated the rings.
1.) That's exactly what I'm saying. Look at ODST, there is no way Buck's squad could have gotten past the Covenant outpost on the surface after finding the Rookie, Dare, and Vergil.

2.) The Sentinals are Halo's primary defense, they don't fly around the Galaxy hunting down Flood.

3.) Halo's Sentinals can harass entire Fortress class vessels, which are 100km In length
