SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

I think its a great thing. After almost 10 years, I'm sick of Halo. Its time for Bungie to do something else. Bungie was the best at reinventing genres. Let's see if they still have that knack. With an all new Intellectual Property.

Ya I'm glad bungie got rid of Halo, like every franchise before it would just weigh them down. And seeing as halo discussion is moving over to 343 the forums might become an interesting place again.

On an unrelated note, evilcam, why does your name sound so familiar?

In the beginning, halo was going to be a horrible-looking computer game, and would of failed miserably. So, they sold the IP to Microsoft, and were hired to create the game, and the next one, and the next one. Soon enough, however, some problems occured, and bungie and microsoft split. Bungie was aloud to finish up on ODST and Halo:Reach, but after that, no more making halo games. Instead, a new company was created from previous bungie employees that agreed to Microsoft's demands, which are now working on the new halo. So, does that answer your question?

why on earth did bungie sell the halo franchise. it was makeing way to much money so why would they sell it? please enlighten me

Watch and learn.

We didn't sell Halo. Bungie was acquired by Microsoft before Halo: CE launched. If we could have become independent and kept Halo, we would have. For some reason, Microsoft didn't want to give it up.

;)

Why does your youtu.be link look like a shock site url?

When you click "share" on a YouTube video, you have the option of shortening it for social sites like Twitter so you can cram more characters in :P

IGNITION246, what you've just posted is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this thread is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

When I first started reading I thought: "What? Is this how the PR guy really conducts himself on the forums?" But then I realized that they weren't your own words and it was a quote from a movie. That made it much more ok, lol.

See this is why I like that the employees post here and clear up any non sense that may arise.

Guys, it's pretty obvious he's from Xbox.com, so we can have some mercy on him.

What? Got something against Yetis?

Im kind of excited as to what the Bungie staff plans on doing. Now that they don't have to worry about following canon (which everyone got upset about) they can make a brand new universe. I'm both glad and sad that they separated.

Much as I hate contributing to goldtext quotestorms, I feel the need to respond to your ultimate insult with the ultimate compliment.

Battlefield 3 MASTER RACE
Mass Effect 3 MASTER RACE
Skyrim MASTER RACE
Coup MASTER RACE
Chrome MASTER RACE
I program games, that's all you need to know.

Bungie respects their community more than profit. (I hope)

Bungie wanted freedom, Bungie didn't want to make Halo games for the rest of their gaming career. Would you want to be tied down to the same game forever? I sure wouldn't.

The gaming industry is innovative, well most of the time.

  • 08.20.2011 8:53 PM PDT

I wanna do one. Does Bungie really look lke a company with a plan? You know what they are? They're a dog chasing cars. They wouldn't know what to do with one if they caught it. You know, they just... do things.

I'm pretty sure that qualifies as flaming. You should be banned immediately. Perma-banned. From the internet.

They practically needed funds for the game, so M$ appears and gives money to produce Halo, which means that all their investments needs to be recovered by having the franchise and not let it go or have by anyone, even the creator that would eventually got independent.

  • 08.20.2011 10:32 PM PDT

Yeah so why DID Bungie sell Halo? Last I heard he was still a cool guy who didn't afraid of anything. Apparently this changed.
