I was the first Spartan. And I will be the last. Mythic on 9/1/2012 never forget
PAX 08, Third Team against Luke and Shishka, AR dual to
the Death, won by one point... Assembly hasn't changed.

urk: "This is a bad idea."
DeeJ: "Hold still..."

Just going through some of Bungie's old game, and I was thinking....

What if Destiny is really a remake, or a sequel to one of their old games?

It could be a sequel to Pathways into Darkness or something of the like.

Just an idea, whats your take commmunity?

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Myth FPS. (get the IP back)

Marathon: Infinity +1

It's not camping, it's holding the designated location.

As far as we know LingLing's jar is still intact, so it's not Owt Gnop. (Gnop is Pong spelled backwards so Gnop 2 would be Owt Gnop (Pong Two))

Nope, they said its a new universe. But, now I made be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the universe is destroyed at the end of Marathon: Infinity and at the end of the game the last line is "I know what you are... You are Destiny." So maybe a Universe is reborn in a parallel universe type thing with allusions to the original but I doubt it. Most likely totally new universe. Story, characters, and all.

Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

Air dropping into a jungle to infiltrate a mysterious pyramid that holds a sleeping/dreaming god? Speaking with the dead? Perhaps having Jjaro implants that mean you can't/won't die and will eventually live on to be one of the Battleroids that put down then Mar's food riots and later the security officer aboard humanities first interstellar colony ship?

Interesting.

And this is why I love this community....Keep the input coming, only help to start a spark in someones mind and realize what it really is....

To which Bungie then will probably dicredit as to keep it secret while also changing small aspects to not make it indectical to what we thought it was....but that just the way things gotta be.

Mourne not your comrades who must dwell / too strong to strive -
Within each steel-bound coffin of a cell, / Buried alive;
But rather mourne the apathetic throng / The cowed, and the meek -
Who see the world’s great anguish and its wrong / And dare not speak.

It's actually been officially comfirmed that Marathon is a sequel to PiD, though I can't find the quote for that. You can tell from this page, though, that the universes are the same.

A PiD remake would be cool. I've never been able to play it myself. But Bungie has said before that this is a new IP.

The beginning of arrival from the first marathon does look like pathways.
