So what are we thinking about all that Bungie has done? Thoughts on the partnership with Activision, the launch of Bungie Aerospace, and that ever looming new title that they sorta-kinda-not-really hint to?

Personally I'd love to know what they think honestly about this new publisher, and how different it feels to work on mobile systems. I'd love to hear how they are working it all out right now, because I personally am very excited for their future.

From a business standpoint, Activision was a very smart move, giving them a larger market to work with, and as we can see, still retain some freedom on their titles, as they are still in the dark about this next one.

I was completely caught off guard with the details of Bungie Aerospace, that was something I don't think I would have ever guessed they'd do, but if any huge gaming company would do it, it would be without a doubt the loons at Bungie to say "Let's have at it!"

So, in short, let's hear your thoughts on Bungie 2011!

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Yeah, since Bungie gave away Halo, he have had an uncontested era of peace on the forums.

~ I hate, therefore I am. ~

I am fans of both. I am active on both Forums, but I do have to say that I am much more active on B.net than I am on Waypoint.

If I had to choose between the 2 companies, I'd choose Bungie over 343 any day of the week.

Bungie has created one of my most loved franchises ever. There is nothing more addicting to me than sitting down and blowing 6-10 hours playing Halo.

But I can honestly also say that if 343 f**ks up Halo (I'm giving HCEA & Halo 4 as 343's trial runs), then I won't play another Halo except for the ones that Bungie has made. I will play Halo: CE thru Halo: Reach, but I won't ever play another Halo other than Bungie's.

I will play Bungie's creations until the 360 servers are finally shut off, and even then, I will play Bungie's Halo's offline.

I love Bungie. Enough so that even after they have relinquished control of one of the only two franchises that I actually follow (Halo & BethSoft's Elder Scrolls series), I am still a huge fan of Bungie and will always be a member of their Community. I mean, what other company treats their Community with as much love and respect as Bungie? No one. No one treats their Community as well as Bungie does, and no one shows how grateful they are to their Community like Bungie does. This is why I am so loyal to Bungie.

I am anxiously waiting for Bungie's new IP, and when that drops, if I am still playing Halo (assuming that 343 hasn't f**ked up...), then there will be three franchises that I follow.

But to sum it all up;

I am both a Bungie fan, and I am a Halo fan.

But even if 343 is a massive failure (which I don't expect will happen, but I won't get complacent), I will still be a rabid fan of five of the greatest games ever made.

(Bungie's Halo, and BethSoft's the Elder Scrolls really are pretty much the only games that this Hardcore Gamer ever plays... and I like it that way.)

;)

Another advantage to the partnership with Activision is now they have a place to announce anything at all at E3. They're going cross platform so they can't announce anything at the MSFT Press Conference because that would be implying exclusivity to the 360 yet again. And they can't announce it at the Sony Press Conference because then the legions of fanboys will feel "betrayed" by them alluding to PS3 exclusivity (though we know neither of those are true).

Activision has their own press conference and considering Activision is probably going to play a sizable role in this new endeavor (they signed a freaking 10 year deal), they should get a considerate level of exposure at any Con Activision goes to.

It's like if a smaller indy rock band opened for a Muse or Blink 182 concert (or any other big band) or something as opposed to being an act in a much larger music festival. Sure, you're no longer exclusively part of that bigger group, but now you have someone who can help get you more noticed as opposed to being one of MSFT's 3rd parties jumping around for attention like a puppy in the pet shop window that is the gaming industry. (quite possibly the silliest metaphor I've ever used)

Also, Bungie Aerospace could, yet again, open more and more people to the world of Bungie as well as being a legitimately good cause for small, up and coming developers of mobile games. Working in a fashion much similar to one goal of SonicJohn's Whisper Game Studios where people can now get the experience they need to do more and do bigger things in the gaming and mobile entertainment fields. (BTW, SJ, that's 2 plugs in the past week. I'll be expecting a check soon.)

All in all Bungie seems to be looking double plus good as far as current goings on are concerned and I can't wait to see more.

They never "had" halo. MSFT refused TO give up halo.

I am both a Bungie fan, and a Halo fan. I probably always will be.

As to their opinion on their new deal with Activision, they talk about it in the first minute of the ViDoc. It seems as if they love the situation they're in.

Also, they aren't really developing for mobile systems. They are only making a mobile app for Bungie.net. (At least as far as the community knows.) They're publishing mobile games, but they aren't really making them.

But, whatever Bungie is doing I'm sure they're enjoying it.
We make games we want to play.

Since when are Halo fans and Bungie fans mutually exclusive groups?

@Helveck

Just an Average Joe...

I love Halo, and I will complete the next trilogy from 343 simply because I love the lore. But in terms Bungie as a company, I will follow them as long as they continue to make kick ass games. And if that's the case, I shall continue to throw my money at them.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

I think I'm more of an Epic fan.

^ This.

If 343 doesn't take Halo seriously (which I don't think that I have to worry about), and give it the respect and dedication that it deserves, then this statement may become true.

I figure this:

Most people are only a "Halo fan," and take notice only of the game, not the company. If you still post here, then Bungie has done something you liked, be it Halo, or their community. So when I say you're a Bungie fan, I don't mean to say you're not a Halo fan, just that you acknowledge Bungie for what they did, and continue to follow them, even if it is just so you can post in their awesome forums.

Or you just can't stand the Waypoint forums... did you know they moderate it by deleting any post they deem walking the line without even a place marker for where it was, and then ban you when you replace place into that thread a question about how you're post was deleted considering there is no notification that denotes which moderator did it, which would allow you to contact said Moderator in a much more appropriate setting? Stuffs ef'd up...
