Subject: imunity to parasite/flood/infection

Ive already heard about 20 times that Sgt Johnson has imunity to flood... Can somebody explain me how is that posible and how that woks?Ive heard that it is a side efect of being too long exposed to direct plasma + being a part from spartan 1 program...

And i understand h maybe imune for flood spores... but rilly, if infection form rams into your chest, it rams into your chest, and from what i know, there is no cure for that, unles flood just dont see him...

My Grandfather was a Desert Ranger, my Father was a Veteran Ranger in the NCR. My father was killed by Caesar's Legion and they took my Brother. It's now my responsibility to uphold the mantle of the Rangers and avenge my Father and find my Brother.

It doesn't just ram into your chest it has a little "stinger" that goes into you and takes control of your nervous system. And Johnson is immune because he's a Spartan 1.

Johnson isn't immune. Dr. Halsey thought he was, but was basing her conclusions on falsified information. The flood simply never had the chance to actually try to infect him.

He has BS. He was exposed to a large amount of plasma. Mainly from stickies. It then gave him BS. (Something Syndrome, I forget.) The flood take control of a person using their brain cells. Sgt. Johnson's were messed up from BS. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Uh, he is. Johnson said that infection forms tried to infect him but it didn't work. They just shrugged off and went somewhere else. Read First Strike, please.

the Spartan-I augmentations made him immune. BS was just a cover up.

Read the Halo Graphic Novel and the statements about it that Bungie has given. It was retconned.

Page 122 shows the information Dr. Halsey was looking at was fake. Breaking Quarantine does not show him being infected by the flood. Bungie had previously said they wanted to retcon his immunity to the flood, and in an interview around the time the HGN was released, they said the HGN did change it.

Fix your grammar before you judge others. Your grammar is horrible.

Most of people here say that Johnson's S-1 augmentation is what made him to be immune to Flood due to messed up nervous system. Boren's Syndrome is just a cover up by ONI to hide S-1 program.

NOTE: Thanks to other guy for mentioning spell error.

He said that in First Strike, the spores "bounced" right off of him. Because apparently, "I didn't taste too good."

  • 08.22.2011 4:43 PM PDT

Erku 'Nuhalee

And you would think Johnson would have thought he tasted great.

NOBODY is immune?

Johnson just got, you know? LUCKY?...

Welcome to bungie, you have no rights. play nice!

This is what I believe happened:
Infection form jumps on Johnson.
It doesn't like his nervous system and detaches and waits for another slower way of infection.
Johnson uses that to his advantage and he manages to escape in the short time.
The infection form was a bit like Jenkin's but maybe worse, when it tried to attach itself, it changed some things in his system. He can be infected but by other means of infection such as spores or slash but not by a quick control of the nervous system by infection forms.

"Find where the liar hides, so that I may place my boot between his gums!" - Rtas 'Vadum

He is not. Firstly, the Boren's Syndrome thing. Johnson was in the Orion Project which produced the Spartan-Is.

The program was considered a failure with some of the candidates ending up with rare diseases from it. Johnson's nervous system was scrambled by it.

In order to cover up the Orion Project, a fake disease was made up named "Boren's Syndrome" and was linked to high energy plasma. Johnson's fabricated story, as made by ONI, is that he contracted this "Boren's Syndrome" by using an entire crate of plasma grenades at Paris IV. (I don't really remember the number after the colony name) The radiation from which supposedly giving him this. But the true condition was caused by Spartan I augments.

This does not in anyway grant him Flood immunity. HGN retconned that part of Halo: CE so that the Flood did not even get close enough to touch him.

You didn't provide full direct quote...

Re-issue of First Strike, page number of 64.

"They swarmed all over us. Jenkins and Keyes were taken... but I guess I didn't taste too good.

"The Flood doesn't 'taste' anything," Cortana interjected. "The Infection Forms rewrite a victim's cellular structure and convert him into Combat Form, then later a Carrier Form- an incubator for more Infection forms. Based on what we've seen, they certainly don't just decide to pass up a victim."

The Sergeant shrugged. He fished into his pocket, found the remaining stub of a chewed cigar, and stick it in the corner of his mouth. "Well, I've seen different. They 'passed me up' like I was undercooked spinach at a turkey dinner."

He had a 1 in 1,000,000 freak mutation that made him immune which he got from his Spartan-I augmentations.
