Subject: imunity to parasite/flood/infection

Signatures are for squares.

There are three "explanations." One of them is confirmed false. So really, it's narrowed down to two possibilities.

1. Borens Syndrome explanation:
-This is nothing but BS(get it, it's right in your faces the whole time. Borens Syndrome = BS.)
-This is confirmed to be fake. There was no "crate of plasma grenades" creating some kind of mutation to him. This was a cover up for his ORION augmentations.

2. "Spartan I augmentations caused his immunity"
-This is an explanation...if he was actually immune.
-This was confirmed to be false in the Halo Graphic Novel. This shows the true events of what happened to Johnson on Alpha Halo. He MIGHT be immune, but he was never shown infected here.

3. He was never infected.
-This is the true events.
-Confirmed in the Halo Graphic Novel. Johnson managed to fight his way out of the structure without a single infection form pouncing on him.

Basically, there's a chance he is immune(because of the ORION augments) but we don't know if he really is or not.

Bungie stated that they retconned him immunity, but that statement means nothing now. Their "official answers" are no longer canon. Since there is no published canon that states Johnson isn't immune, there is a possibility he is. But as of now, that's unconfirmed.

Yea, I remember now. It was Boren's Syndrome, wasn't it?

Yes, it is. Thanks for reminding me, I fixed my previous post.

He said that in First Strike, the spores "bounced" right off of him. Because apparently, "I didn't taste too good."

You didn't provide full direct quote...

Re-issue of First Strike, page number of 64.

"They swarmed all over us. Jenkins and Keyes were taken... but I guess I didn't taste too good.

"The Flood doesn't 'taste' anything," Cortana interjected. "The Infection Forms rewrite a victim's cellular structure and convert him into Combat Form, then later a Carrier Form- an incubator for more Infection forms. Based on what we've seen, they certainly don't just decide to pass up a victim."

The Sergeant shrugged. He fished into his pocket, found the remaining stub of a chewed cigar, and stick it in the corner of his mouth. "Well, I've seen different. They 'passed me up' like I was undercooked spinach at a turkey dinner."

If this was released after the HGN, then this book takes priority. But I never paid attention to the re-releases.

I don't know, I like the idea that Johnson is immune. The Flood was 'cured' once by humanity. There's no reason why a freak immunity couldn't have been produced.

If not immune, at least resistant. I know the HGN says otherwise but if the re-release of First Strike retains the 'immunity' then I'm guessing it's canon.

Perhaps the terminals in CEA will shed some light on things.

We are all going to get banned aren't we?

The re-releases we done to make Halo: Reach more..."acceptable" so the fact this line is still in doesn't mean anything.

First strike had several edits like the other novels and the line was still in despite HGN proving it wrong.

Not to mention can get infected in halo 3, and since people claim "Games>books" regardless of gameplay then there is a game explanation of it.

It was released in 2010, so yes it was released after the HGN. So this book takes priority.

He has BS. He was exposed to a large amount of plasma. Mainly from stickies. It then gave him BS. (Something Syndrome, I forget.) The flood take control of a person using their brain cells. Sgt. Johnson's were messed up from BS. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Boren's Syndrome to be exact, and the reason flood infection forms can infect him is because the syndrome scrambled his nervous system so much that the flood couldn't force an infection. The only downside is that this syndrome is life threat if left untreated.

If you read the books then you know that before the Human-Forerunner War, the humans actually developed a cure for the flood. Unfortunately though, when the forerunners claimed victory(human empire was already crumbled after losing world after world to the flood). They sent humanity into a pre stone age status and isolated their prophet allies. They lost the cure, which is stupid because the forerunners didn't have to fire Halo.

Hope that helped.
