Wow. I thought I was the only person in the universe to realise Halo 2 sucked.
Halo 1 = perfect game with balanced competitive multiplayer
Halo 2 = noob friendly
Why is Halo 2 noob friendly?
Campaign:
1. Short missions. The fact that there is 15 of them does not help that.
2. Over complicated AI. The AI is so over-programmed that they are stupid. They either spray at you from behind cover while you are hiding behind a wall or they flank you and allow you to easily beat you to death with the horrible melee lunging. In Halo 1 the AI would charge at you (hunters, elites, and to an extent jackals) and not let you take cover. It was simple but it proved more difficult.
3. Because of the AI's stupidity, Bungie had to make their weapons do more damage to make the game seem difficult.
4. Legendary. You think this is tough? All you need to do is memorise the spawns. One you know where everyone spawns then you can spam gernades, spam BR, and noob combo your way through the game.
Multiplayer:
1. BR > everything except power weapons. The Halo 1 pistol may have done massive amounts of damage, but you had to aim. In the PC version of the game, you have to aim ahead even more. That may be due to lag, but it still requires more skill then Halo 2. Power weapons in Halo 1 had their purpose.
The sniper rifle had the same general useage as the pistol, but had more range. The pistol's bullets in Halo 1 would literaly "de-spawn" after a certain distance. The sniper rifle was for taking out enemies outside of that distance. The BR had endless range. Also, the Halo 2 sniper rifle was not only good at any range (due to massive amounts of aim assist and bullet magnetism) but was also easier to use due to bigger hit boxes.
The rockets were good for taking out vehicles and people at somewhat close range. Unlike the Halo 2 rocket launcher, this did not have lock-on and was not affected by bullet magnetism. In Halo 1, a guy with a rocket around the corner could be counterd by moving away from that wall and looking around that corner from a large distance away. Very few Halo 2 maps allow you to do that. The only map in Halo 1 in which you can't counter a "corner rocket" like that is Chiron. However, that map was a joke anyway, just like every map in Halo 2.
The sword was unbeatable at close range. The only counter is another power weapon.
The Halo 1 shotgun had more range than the Halo 2 shotgun, but did much less damage. The Halo 2 shotgun, although having almost no range at all, could usually instantly kill someone with one shot. Also, maps in Halo 2 were perfect for people camping in a corner with one. The same goes for the sword.
2. The maps were noob friendly, camp friendly, and slowed down gameplay so slow-thinking little kids could be good at it.
3. Melee lunging. It was a horrible addition to gameplay. In Halo 1 you could miss if the center of your recticle was even a pixel off of your target. In Halo 2 you can be staring 45 degrees in the opposite direction and still manage to hit someone. It was pathetic.
4. Hitboxes, aim assist, and bullet magnetism. Halo 1 hitboxes were small and covered what they needed to and nothing more. The game had a slight amound of aim assist on the xbox, and none on the PC. Many weapons in Halo 1 had bullet magnetism, but only in minimal amounts.
In Halo 2 all of these were increased in massive amounts. Hitboxes actualy changed for people playing as elites, which made them harder, easier to kill in some instances. This added a useless random feature that was useless, annoying, and for people that play as elites, noob friendly.
Halo 2 was a mistake. I would honestly prefer a campaign addon for Halo 1 than what Halo 2 turned out to be.
Want to argue anything I said? Go right ahead. You have no facts to back up what you are saying. Defend your pathetic games as you wish, but you should know that your "game that was so awesome because it had glitches that were cool and my BR" is pathetic.
facts > your flawed opinions
