Well actually there IS a reason behind it. This comes from the Bungie Web Team, not me. But when you click the "More Posts By This User" button, it actually requires the database to run a search and compile the results. The more entries the database has to search, and the more posts you've made, the more resources and power it drains from the server.

If there were only a few active users here, it probably wouldn't be a very big deal. But as always with Bungie.net, you have to think in terms of scale. There are millions of accounts here, and many millions of posts to search through for the past 6 or 7 years. Some individual users alone have tens of thousands of posts (if not more) in their overall history. As a result, thousands of people trying to run "More Posts By This User" searches at the same time could cause serious performance issues with BNet if there weren't some limits set on how far back the database was required to search.

^As RoflCopter said, "12-pages."

12 = 300posts.

But you can view how many posts you have for each individual forum. (12 different forums) Which also only shows 12 pges. (300posts) So you can only view up to 3,600posts.

Wouldn't that problem just be resolved if instead of compiling all your most recent posts together when you click to check they kept a text document linking to all your posts?

Given that it links to a post they wouldn't have to edit the document every time there was a edit to the post, and they'd only have to edit it when a new post was made, which is already recorded to your ID number so it can't be that hard to record it to a text document also.

Does it also have somethig to do with stopping people abusing a total post count system?

People with tens of thousands of posts on B.net? Wow, I am amazed and happy.
