Is it me or does Crimson look a lot like an iPad version of Steambirds, a free Flash game? From the screenshots shown, there is one helluva resemblance. They're both top-down steampunk games that have a turn-based combat system, and they share some concepts like special abilities for different units and anticipation of opponent moves as a base of the combat system. Though from what I'm reading, there are definitely a lot more features in Crimson, not to mention the inclusion of statkeeping and multiplayer. If I had an iPad, I'd totally get it.
