"For God and Glory!"

perhaps not, but there are some very obvious clues that connect them.

MARATHON LOGO ON HALO SHIELD
I'm sure each and every one of you have seen the marathon logo that symbolizes the game itself on every Halo shield that signifies the difficulty. there in black and white is the marathon logo!
picture

HALO 3 SECURITY HELMET
everyone knows the security helmet is the marathon helmet found on the pictures showing the marathon security personal whom all players find themselves as during the trilogy. also It's even called the Security Helmet which is what it is in the Marathon universe as well as the halo universe.

HALO 3 UNSC LOGO IS MARATHON LOGO
they're the exact same (other than the wreath)

looks to me like they're the same universe, perhaps marathon is just an earlier version of Halo and they're not related at all... I don't know. any input?

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

All of Bungie's games reference each other. It's widely known.

no.

Bungie has confirmed that they are not related. The clues are just easter eggs for long time fans.

Unfortunately, some of the key elements of each universe just will not align. FTL travel, teleportation, colony timelines, etc.

I would say fortunately since Marathon's universe is consistent and it being merged with Halo's inconsistent universe would be worse in the end for Marathon.

It's a metaphor for the 07s' lack of identity. too old to be newfag, yet too new to be oldfag, we wander b.net in search of a home, forever trying to be something we are not.

"For God and Glory!"

okay so they're not the same, but I do like the similarities. It makes me feel connected to the good old days of Marathon
