Consider Bungie Aerospace just a "thing on the side" and consider Bungie as still working on a new project that will be announced later.

Basically, don't get disappointing because this isn't what you wanted think that Bungie is still in their "going dark" phase.

Right. Aerospace isn't the sole reason for Bungie's independence. Its a side project they're passionate about and are using to expand their scope. We still don't know what Bungie and Activision's relationship is, or why they're stockpiling PS3 talent.

Just to clear up a little early morning confusion: "Crimson" will be available on iOS and Android. More details soon.

In other words: iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and Android.

Not just an iPad game.

Also, Bungie is still dark on their own projects. They're just promoting/publishing Indie Game Developers meanwhile.

I doubt it SJ. Have you seen the screen shots? That's a lot of -blam!- on the screen to have to manage when its scaled down to a little 2x3 screen or whatever the iPhone is nowadays. Also, the FAQ specifically says its for iPad devices. Not all iOS devices. So if it goes to Android I imagine it will be a tablet specific game.

Doesn't "going dark" usually specifically mean they have nothing to announce?

Quinntology.

Nevermind. Never saw the Aerospace tweet.

They need to advertise SOMETHING if the game is gonna be released this time next year.
No they don't.

This. I'd rather not hear anything about it at all, since hearing too much information either hypes the game beyond what it actually deserves, or lessens the experience of playing it for yourself.

But really am sweet at heart. =)

Knew it.

I'm sorry for posting an opinion that is counter to what Bungie wants me to believe. How DARE I have an opinion? How DARE I not be in love with everything that Bungie has ever done or stood for?

Maybe I'm just pissed because they did absolutely nothing with their latest title: Reach, and instead glorified Aerospace as being this huge amazing step, and instead we got an iPad game.

Bungie is treading some very dangerous ground. They are making a brand new title, which they keep pushing back, that has nothing to do with Halo, even though that is what 95% of their fanbase loves them for.

They then crushed half of that fanbase by essentially doing NOTHING with Reach for 6 months, releasing a half assed map pack worked on by 3 people, then handed it over to 343 with little more than a "see ya later" 250 character post on the main page.

Then, they said they would release a Bungie Day ViDoc to announce their new title, that got pushed back to August, and what did they do? Talk about how amazing Reach was, not admitting a single mistake they made with Halo.

Their new IP is not launching next year. Try the year after. This is the most likely scenario, their pattern. Anyone who has been around Bnet awhile can tell you this.

Maybe I'm just pissed because they did absolutely nothing with their latest title: Reach, and instead glorified Aerospace as being this huge amazing step, and instead we got an iPad game.

So, after knowing exactly what aerospace was, you decided that when they delivered exactly what they said they would, it wasn't good enough.

Bungie is treading some very dangerous ground. They are making a brand new title, which they keep pushing back, that has nothing to do with Halo, even though that is what 95% of their fanbase loves them for.

That's like telling EA to only make one game. They should stick to Madden NFL because that's where a large portion of there community is.

Developers have to branch out and make new games to keep things interesting and original.

Remember, this is Bungie.net, not a Halo website. People who are still here and Bungie fans. If they were strictly Halo fans, they would have move over to here.

Also, please provide a some info on Bungie pushing there new IP back, and since you think they keep pushing it back, you seem to believe it's happened more than once.

Once again, your logic is flawed. The inability to see the larger picture makes you ignorant.

Except there's an opinion, and then there's expecting them to follow certain guidelines based on your logic of thinking.

Opinion: 'I think they should release info on their game, since it releases this year. It would help generate interest in their new IP.'

You: 'They need to advertise SOMETHING if the game is gonna be released this time next year'

See the difference? You have an (unreasonable) expectation that isn't being fulfilled, and you're angry about it.

I'm sorry for posting an opinion that is counter to what Bungie wants me to believe.

That's not why people are upset with you. They're upset because you're being ungrateful for them doing EXACTLY WHAT THEY SAID THEY WOULD DO and then you're upset with it.

How DARE I not be in love with everything that Bungie has ever done or stood for?

What is that? What has Bungie "always stood for"? You don't know. You're not Bungie. Bungie chooses what Bungie stands for because THEY'RE -blam!-ING BUNGIE!

The only way that statement could hold any relevance is if Bungie's mission statement was: "We're Bungie. We make halo. We make games for Xbox 360." And it's not...

Maybe I'm just pissed because they did absolutely nothing with their latest title: Reach

What do you mean they did nothing with it? Of course they did stuff with it. What kind of stupid statement is that?! you may mean something else by that statement but that is an incredibly ignorant and just plain dumb thing to say...

and instead glorified Aerospace as being this huge amazing step, and instead we got an iPad game.

They didn't glorify Aerospace. They basically said (and I'm paraphrasing here) "Hey, we're gonna help some small developers publish mobile games. That cool? K."

Bungie is treading some very dangerous ground. They are making a brand new title, which they keep pushing back, that has nothing to do with Halo, even though that is what 95% of their fanbase loves them for.

How can they push back a new title that they have literally NOT SAID ONE WORD ABOUT EVER?!

Are you that dumb? Bungie can't legally make another Halo title. What else are they supposed to do? Give up because Halo is no longer an option? And how are they treading "dangerous ground"? They're just making a new game.

And where did you get that statistic "95% of their fanbase loves them for". That doesn't make sense at all. I'm sure that more than 5% of their fanbase has played more than Halo...

They then crushed half of that fanbase by essentially doing NOTHING with Reach for 6 months

How did they crush their fanbase? Where are you getting that info from? Where were all the threads about how their fanbase has been crushed in the Reach forum? I saw none.

releasing a half assed map pack worked on by 3 people

Where's your proof that 3 people worked on it? Hello? I said, where's your proof that 3 people worked on it? Who told you this information? What's your source? Hello? Are you there?

then handed it over to 343 with little more than a "see ya later" 250 character post on the main page.

That.... and a 55 minute ViDoc. Did you want a personalized "good-bye" message from Urk himself?

Also, they didn't hand it over to anyone.

Anyone reading this who is misinformed about the "hand over" to 343 Industries please read the following.

Bungie never owned Halo. Microsoft always did. Bungie never had anything to hand over. Microsoft just didn't want to give it up. Bungie handed over nothing. Microsoft just kept what they had.

Then, they said they would release a Bungie Day ViDoc to announce their new title, that got pushed back to August, and what did they do?

... ... ... Find me the post where they promised to announce their new title. I don't remember that at ALLLL.

Talk about how amazing Reach was, not admitting a single mistake they made with Halo.

They admitted lots of mistakes. And you are just another one of the pour souls who didn't listen to what they were ACTUALLY saying in the ViDoc. They said that Reach was the perfect experience for them. As developers.

They had lots of freedom to do what they wanted and had fun doing it. They never said Reach was a flawless game, nor that Halo was a flawless franchise.

About me: I am a vicious wolf of a man.

But really am sweet at heart. =)

Bungie never gave us a hint of what Aerospace was until launch, but in the mean time said

"Our programmers are working on something special that we are very excited to reveal."

Now tell me. Does that sound like a new game? Or a way of backing indie developers? Sounds like a new game to me. They essentially gave us false advertisement for a few months, made it seem like they were working on revealing their new title, and gave us something totally different that doesn't affect us at all.

Now, to totally ream crazysnipe's idiotic "breakdown" of my post and all the fanboys for good.

What is that? What has Bungie "always stood for"? You don't know. You're not Bungie. Bungie chooses what Bungie stands for because THEY'RE -blam!-ING BUNGIE!

No, but Bungie's statement is "we make games we want to play". If Bungie wants to play games with broken combat and melee systems, with rampant nade spam, a pathetic campaign, and horribly designed maps, maybe they shouldn't be in the game industry.

How did they crush their fanbase? Where are you getting that info from? Where were all the threads about how their fanbase has been crushed in the Reach forum? I saw none.

You obviously have never seen the Reach forum, ever. For every post praising the game, there is another one laying out VERY clear points about how Reach was a rushed mess that was only thrown out so they could be free of Microsoft, the very dev that gave them their big push.

Wow, thanks for totally spinning my post the wrong way. You make it seem like Bungie was forced off of Halo, that is not the case at all. They chose an idiotic selfish move and left the publisher that gave them their start and treated them like an independent publisher all along anyway. They gave the Halo fan base the cold shoulder in the process as well essentially saying, even in the ViDoc that 2 more games were the price to pay for their freedom.

NOT "We cant wait to make 2 more Halo games." It was "2 more games to go until freedom"

Also, my figures are totally correct thank you very much. If I'm wrong, please direct me to the Marathon and Myth forums. Oh? They don't exist? Oh well.

Where's your proof that 3 people worked on it? Hello? I said, where's your proof that 3 people worked on it? Who told you this information? What's your source? Hello? Are you there?

Im not going through all of the weekly updates to find the quote. But Urk said that 97% of the studio was working on their new project, but a small team would stay behind to work on Reach. If you gather that around 270 people worked at Bungie at that time. Do the math. Less than a dozen people were working on Reach.

That.... and a 55 minute ViDoc. Did you want a personalized "good-bye" message from Urk himself?

Also, they didn't hand it over to anyone.

Anyone reading this who is misinformed about the "hand over" to 343 Industries please read the following.

A ViDoc, 2 months late. They cared so little about it that they dragged it out longer for no reason. And you are the idiot my friend. Jason Jones had the rights, but sold them to Microsoft. Bungie wanted the rights back before leaving the company. So essentially they would have deprived Microsoft of their best dev, and their multi billion dollar IP.

BUNGIE was the side being selfish.

Not what I said. They spent a good 15 minutes just talking about the issues with Halo 2, even the shortcomings of 3. But NEVER mentioned any of the problems with the Reach Beta or Reach its self.

Wake up, and stop being a blind fanboy.

If you have all these issues with Bungie, why are you still here? Makes sense to me that people who truly dislike something don't stick around. So basically, you seem to be here only to cause controversy and troll the forums, while you wait for what you want.

I would like to see evidence of your numbers as well. All you've given us is your interpretation on what Bungie has said. Until you provide evidence backing everything you've said, you are, from hereon, labelled a tool.

They make perfect since to me. The OP's other post said they pushed back the vidoc to August and Destiny. They only pushed the vidoc back 2 days and Destiny never had a release date. And Bungie did own Halo for a very short time when it was supposed to be for mac, but Microsoft bought it and them.
