Are You Ready for the Assault? Welcome to Firefight.

Produced in about a week's time, this is a total conversion mod for the Halo: Demo for Mac/PC.

Background

Battle against wave after wave of Covenant assaults as you fight for your life inside one of the most famous multiplayer maps of all time! Utilize everything from your jet pack, to your DMR, to the infamous target locator to fend off the alien onslaught! Play one of 18 unique game modes, many of which are EXCLUSIVE to this mod, and not seen in any other Firefight experience elsewhere, even on the console versions! Battle in one of four unique map variants to add another dimension to the Firefight experience, making for 72 unique ways to play! A different battle, every time.

Play gametype variants like Domination and Fireball and see how much ball/hill time you can accumulate against waves of Covenant constantly bearing down on you. Charge through the enemy offensive and create one of your own as you seek to complete death-defying laps in Deathrace, and complete Halo: Reach's most famous objective "...Survive..." as you endure until the very end in Firefight Classic mode.Take to the air and rain down fire on your enemies in Rocketfight, or hang back and deal out death from a distance in Sniperfight.

With so many ways to play, the waves of Covenant aren't the ONLY thing that can be endless in this mod...

A Note from the Creator

This mod started out back before Firefight was confirmed for CE: Anniversary. As such, I saw there was a gap to fill in the Anniversary experience, and I wanted to fill it. Even though Firefight is now confirmed for CEA, I think this mod will still serve as a sweet new refresh for people who don't own 360's and won't have access to CEA like the rest of us. This mod is especially for you guys. :)

MANY GRACIOUS thanks to everyone whose work made this mod possible. This was in no way entirely my doing, I'm not that high-caliber a modder, and most of the work you see before your eyes is a goulash of many different mods/tags rolled into one amazing experience. I don't want to extend this post any further than it needs to be, so I'll just say that the credits to all whose work went into this mod will be in the mod's enclosed manual. There are countless people to thank, and I can't say it all here, so please read the "Read Me" for all the details.

I hope everyone has a blast playing this mod. I certainly enjoyed making it. Have fun!

System Requirements

- Must have Halo: Trial installed on your Mac/PC. This is a mod for that application. This map will not work with Halo Full or Custom Edition. The demo is free to download and play. Just google it.

I have played many custom firefight maps, but I have to say that this actualy looks pretty good for four days of work.

(Hell, its alot better than what I could do. I can't even make a shotgun shoot plasma gernades without failing horribly.)

The trailer and stuff looked good, but after I played the map I was extremely dissapointed.

I would honestly prefer to be stuck in a room with everyone from the Halo 2 forum and be forced to play Halo 2 for the rest of my life then actualy play this for any length of time.

This exactly.

I will admit that it is still better than anything I could make.

(although I did actualy figure out how to make a shotgun shoot plasma grenades... but the grenades fly backwards and stick me...)

I only ever modded Halo 2 out of all the Halo games (except for a bit of usermap modding in Halo 3) but I'm preeetty sure that swapping projectiles like that is a relatively simple operation. Evidently some higher being is attempting to prevent you from modding.

I worked with what I could and while the way in which the dropship flies isn't visually appealing, it still does drop enemies, which is the whole point. It appears for 10 seconds every minute or so, which is why I really didn't consider its obscure flight path a major issue worthy of halting the release.

Well when I was beta testing, at least at the pace i worked, it was usually about 10 seconds to reload, rearm and take care of collecting weapon drops before the next round, which made objective gametypes a little less impossible. But criticism well taken, I might release an update for the mod taking into account what you said.

Thanks. Also, while I do see what you were getting at in this mod, you should probably try using a nicer-looking tagset for your next one :P. The new CMT Elite V2 tagset is really good, works with all stock weapons and some new ones.

Also, I do respect you for this mod, it's just that it's a bit of a miss.

Also watch some of t3hlag's other stuff. It's all very good quality animations and tag work. He's a really inspirational modder.
