"There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe."
Gospel of John, 1:1-7

I've just recently started playing Marathon, and Jeez, I'm entirely confused on how the ship is in working order. Barrels strewn everywhere, inconspicuous health stations and buttons placed randomly across the ship. I mean, would it have killed the contractors to make the ship any less complicated?

The least they could have done would have been to make straight hallways! Or get rid some of those barrels. How many barrels does a ship need in it's hallways? And who forgets stairs in a multi-story ship? I feel like if you're going to create a multiple story ship, you should at least invest in stairs. They'd probably be cheaper than giant metal boxes going up and down at random, and let's not forget safer.

Anyway. Who else agrees with me that the contractors for the UESC Marathon need to be fired?

You have to remember that the Marathon is not just a spaceship, it is a converted moon. Besides, considering the "tumultuous, back-stabbing politics of Sol during the early twenty-fourth century", we're lucky that any of the hallways are straight.

And with Durandal in control of all the elevators, what could possibly go wrong?!?

BOB-B-Q!
If only they brought back Marathon and Pathways into Darkness...

It's a game bro, i know what your getting at, with buttons 25 feet up a wall and such, but it's just a game. A game made for you to think about how to get around the ship, thats it.

It's a metaphor for the 07s' lack of identity. too old to be newfag, yet too new to be oldfag, we wander b.net in search of a home, forever trying to be something we are not.

My God I agree. I didn't play Marathon until around the time Halo 2 came out and I was incapable of navigating through the ship. I had to relearn everything I had learned about playing old computer FPSs.

We will know soon enough, but it will require thought. Deep thought. Mendicant Bias must be found. The Mantle will soon follow.

Famous last words? Maybe.

Then again...

Maybe not...
