O_O you looked at your friends balls when "he" sat on your head O_o

thanks for the advice everyone. just one more thing i want to say, if i mail the moderators, wouldnt the guy who i mailed them about come to know, which would make me his target for flaming and such? also, if he starts to get out of hand and is perma-banned, he can make alts and continue doing the same thing. couldnt there be a bot that alerts you when you have some sort of degrading mail or something and give you the option of reading it or immediatley deleting it? sry, i dont really know anything about web design and iw as just curious

I wouldn't think the mods would let the other person know exactly 'who' complained. I wouldn't see the point - but I could be wrong...

Heh, I'm not an expert either - but I do know that you can trace a user by their IP address. So if they did make another account the mods would probably know about it and ban that one too. Maybe even block that IP? Not sure... Any experts on this out there?

No, they don't. And if the flaming does persist (for whatever reason) after that person's ban lapses, message the same moderator again, and they'll give them a more permanent blacklist.

That's not how bans work on bungie.net, because it's far too easy to change your IP address, but there are other ways to prevent circumventing blacklists which Bungie.net uses. What those ways are is top secret. Some people know, but the punishment for revealing them is far too painful for anyone to even consider divulging that information. They don't call Achronos "the fantastical dealer of wounds" for nothing, you know.

They don't call him that at all, actually.

Is there any way to limit the roughness of the public forums? I havnt gone on to one for a while because of the atmosphere, its kind of like what they say in court:"Everything you say can, and will be used against you."

It seems that if i go onto the optimatch forum, and note the weaknesses of Turf or something, then some kid will start typing endless profanities at me. Is there anything the moderators can do? Like make it so that if someone is going to post a reply to a thread that has potential to be very controversial, the replier has to pass it through a moderator, or make some sort of bot thingy that could do that? It just makes us feel like less of a community. same with all the group conquering and stuff. thank you for listening, i hope a moderator will reply to me.

Ya I hate it when people decide to act like Jerks on the forums...Sorry that had to happen to you.

The ninjas take care of the flamers and spammers and they often deal with them quickly. These forums are not as rough as some others.
