Well the reason I'm outspoken about the issue is due to being consistent with the rest of the franchise.
But there is solid evidence that the UNSC will be in. Three piece that I'll use that go hand-in-hand.
Firstly, the video interview with Frankie with how says that the Warthog is the Halo 4 model. Secondly, a big piece of concept art featured at HaloFest that portrayed a big bulky ship with the words "UNSC" written on the hull. Possibly as well, the ships we see in the Halo 4 concept art trailer look vaguely UNSC (less so with the ships that bare a resemblance to the Pelican).

Using these three sources, the natural conclusion is that the UNSC do play a role in the game. Concept art like that doesn't just get rejected, especially if it was shown at a festival and in a trailer (assuming the ships in the trailer are UNSC).

You're using your own assumptions to support your argument of UNSC being at Halo 4.

Kind of ironic that you say that, huh?

I can only be thought of as God if people think I am, therefore don't think of me as God.

Video description says don't get attached.

"Although you shouldn't get too attached to any of the specific ideas or scenarios in here, it does represent some of our early, current and ongoing artistic effort. "

It was mostly referring to the art itself. Just because it said not to get too attached to the ideas or scenarios only means that they will not be presented in the way they were in the video.
Go ahead, start parading this link around the forums pretending that it's irrefutable proof.

Except for the fact that you act like God with a fake iron fist.

It just says not to get comfortable. We will see some of that stuff in the game, but in what context, extent, and form, nobody knows. Assuming it's proof of UNSC involvement isn't wise especially when nothing really hints at the sort.

Which why I was light on my statement by saying "assuming the ships in the trailer are UNSC".
You're flat out denying the evidence pointing towards their appearance. Guess what? This evidence contradicts your silly little Encyclopedia. Yes, 343 sucks and doesn't know what to do with the Halo canon, well get over it.

Which doesn't make sense since you claim one of the ships says UNSC on it clearly despite nobody else seeing it.

I was talking about the video of the concept art images on the walls. Not the trailer with the ship with "UNSC" on its hull.
The video with the picture was in higher res before it got moved to YouTube. Skim back through this thread and you'll see that somebody caught it too.

You have a point, but an entire level and portrayal of New Mombasa was scrapped from Halo 2 despite being shown at E3.

A nice point, Cobra, but not entirely correct. That level was not directly cut, merely altered from what the reveal was. The concept remained there and was not altered from its barebones. And generally, to my understanding of the idea behind revealing concept art, it's not shown if it's not something that could potentially be cut. What I'm saying that if it's shown, then it is pretty definite that it will appear, not necessarily how the concept revealed is though.

Well, all I know is that New Mombasa no longer looks like the way it did in the Halo 2 E3 demo. Sure the concept was the same, but the difference is that 343 said don't get comfortable with the Halo 4 concept art, so I'm weary to accept it all right now.

It only really changed in Halo 2 for the first portions of that level while you're in the older city. It didn't look all that different to me in ODST or in the latter portions of the level when you're in the streets right before entering the building where you go to destroy the Scarab.

IIRC, that quote was more along the lines of what Ruby said above me, it would seem to be more meant as saying "don't get attached to the art itself and automatically assume that it's going to look just like this" ...And didn't they say that about the armor when the Master Chief actor came out >_> Not the concept art in the video?

I'm looking at the art AND scenario deal here. Sure we see a UNSC ship, but who says it will even be in the game?

I understand your outspokenness on the issue; however, I feel that franchise consistency will remain intact without the UNSC.

If you are referring to the 2554 Warthog, Frankie already stated that it would have been released at the end of 2552, so that does not confirm/deny UNSC presence.

As for the Artwork, that could be prove UNSC presence, but it is also subject to change(even if shown at a festival).

Personally, I wouldn't mind the UNSC being there, but given the setting and what I know about it, I doubt it.
