"We live in a special time; the only time where we can observationally verify that we live in a very special time" - Lawrence Krauss.

I was a finalist :P

If I did the following would be my automatic reply:

Message by: Zealot Tony
Greetings, if this is in regard to a ban given be me to you as a birthday present please respond in a low level, non-flaming tone- for the sake of humanity.

In the event of an inappropriate message forwarded to me the follow message will be given as a response: Response A

For continued posts involving flaming to me, or anyone else in particular this link would justify any post I would wish to respond to you with: Response B

Have a nice day, and keep PM and the forums clean.

PS. If you have a serious question I will get back to you pronto and it would be best if you ignored the above paragraphs

Regards
Zealot Tony.

:D

On a serious note; the idea of moderator would most certainly change the way you behave on these forums. I know a few people who are up for this role and some of them are just have the 'member' title.

Me being moderator however is not my judgement, but for Stosh and the HFCS to decide. It is impossible to determine all factors or qualities to deduce who will become a moderator- but, if I were to be chosen in the future (probably most distant), then so be it- I will attempt to make this site a better place for discussion, which is probably the primary reason anyone would ever want to be a moderator anyway.

With the launch of a new forum fast approaching, and the potential carnage created when Bungie eventually announces their new game, many are assuming it is logical to bring in more moderators.

That, or maybe there's something afoot. Do I sense a coup d'état?

Achronos: And what's this about a "design team" I've been hearing? Apparently stosh is so awesome he's now considered a "team".

The main reason I would accept the job would be to give back to the community and to Bungie. I also hate people and banning them would make me feel so much better.

Just to be able to help the community more. One can only do so much by reporting, it can be frustrating at times, but in at end of the day it'd just to help the community continue to be such an awesome place

Hello! You may also know me as Ijnekono. How you have made your way here I do not know, but welcome. (:

We're not to know about our master's plans yet!
And I would be a mod for the bitses. Ninjas must get a bit more of happiness in their position of power.
And of course to improve and sweep the streets and dark alleys of B.net. As a mod I would venture into all forums, ready to clean up scum.

Thats exactly something I wouldn't do. If I were constantly combing the forums for people to ban and threads to lock, I'd be miserable here. I would only constantly deal with the bad, and as such, I would end up leaving.

I wouldn't change anything about how I post, or the forums I frequent. Sure, I'd take care of the things I saw when I saw them, but I would want to enjoy my time here just as much as everyone else.

*edit*

The one thing I would do if I were a Ninja though is ban/warn anyone who replies/quotes me, for no other reason than I was a Ninja.
srsly, that -blam!- is annoying.

Battle is the most magnificent competition in which a human being can indulge. It brings out all that is best; it removes all that is base. All men are afraid in battle. The coward is the one who lets his fear overcome his sense of duty. Duty is the essence of manhood.

If I were to become a ninja, my experience here on bungie.net would change, and that's something that I don't want changing. So no, I don't wish to be a forum ninja, however, if I were to be asked to be one, I would certainly have to sleep on that one.

  • 08.27.2011 5:17 AM PDT

I'm actually surprised at the amount of people that wouldn't want the position -- I always thought the majority would do it. Personally, I'd love it. Like TriGuy said, you can only do so much reporting.

Because the Community wants more Mods, so there's a ton of threads about whether or not you'd do it or why you'd make a good Ninja.

In all honesty, idk. I guess it'd be cool not only to get a chance to help clean up BNet (as much as one person can do) but also see things from their perspective, as Ninjas.

To be a moderator, you must always provide a 100% positive attitude towards the member of the forum.

As for the topic discussion, finding the right moderator with a positive attitude that meets the requirement for bungie is extremely difficult to find, since the majority of the players here does not meet the requirement. However only a chosen few, possibly those that bungie actually recognize these people, may become the moderator of this website, as well as stronger connection to the bungie's upcoming news.

I don't, but if I did become one, I would probably avoid banning unless it is completely obvious that the OP knows he is breaking the rules.
