I have a 360, 4 wireless controllers, and Halo PC. I heard that the controllers work with PC games, so I thought I'd give it a shot using my recharge cord. Lo and Behold, it only works with wired controllers. Being an avid Xbox player, I'd LOVE to use a 360 controller with my PC for this game, and I am willing to drop another 30 to get a wired controller just for my PC. Question is, can I use the 360 wired controller with Halo PC?

Of course you can, just like any other gamepad. Just make sure you have Windows XP and Service Pack 1 or 2 installed.

Always welcome to help a fellow Halo PC gamer, though I suggest you use the keyboard and mouse.

for most FPS games I'd say use a keyboard and mouse, but for some reason I'm better with the 360 controller. Probably because I used to play so much halo on my xbox that it just feels right.

You would buy a fifth 360 controller, just to see how it works on HPC?

Talk about a die-hard fan... a fan of Microsoft or Bungie I am not yet sure...

Well, Halo 2 for Vista will be fully compatible with the controller, so why not? I'm decent with a keyboard and mouse, but it's just easier for me to use a controller.

Only works with sp2. I know microsoft website says it will work with sp1 but I tried it and it siad criteria not met will not continue installation. Then I upgraded the same pc to sp2 and ti worked fine. I still can't find drivers or a way to make it work on mac.

I feel that the xbox controllor is too sensitive. It will move the character evenwith out really touching the joystick. EVEN WITH THE SENSITIVEITY ALL THE WAY DOWN. I like ps controllors anyway. PS3 will be out nov. for about 400 dollar and hopfully will not have all the errors xb360 does.

keyboard and mouse was made for FPS games. I would definitely choose those before the controller while playing Halo PC.

I just got my Xbox 360 yesterday (premium, how could I not play Halo?) and it came with two controllers, adding to the wireless one I already had and my wired one.

Bungie Explicitly stated that H2 Vista would be fully compatible with the 360 controller. This may even include an auto-aim function, but they haven't said so.

I highly doubt it will support an auto-aim function, because then dozens of people on H2PC will buy the 360 controller and have an ridiculously unfair advantage over keyboard and mouse users. I hope the 360 controller is compatible with Vista, and H2PC for that matter.

But seriously. No scoping from across the map firing at random locations and getting headshots? That's insane. In H2PC there will be no auto-aim and sniping will actually take skill and a steady hand.
