The more i thought of Halo 4, the more theories came up for me.

But one thing ive noticed is that most Halo games dont start where the teasers start. But this was problematic, since the trailer is relatively right after Halo 3.

What if it starts with the Chief in cryo, just showing him in different angles with dramatic music. It then zooms into his helmet, looking right at it. It then shows flashbacks, maybe even playable, the highlights of Halo CE through 3, leading up to his cryo rest. Right after that, it basically shows the trailer, but theres bound to be major changes.

What do you think of this possible introduction?

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

Playable flashbacks wouldn't really work for an intro.

Battlefield 3 MASTER RACE
Mass Effect 3 MASTER RACE
Skyrim MASTER RACE
Coup MASTER RACE
Chrome MASTER RACE
I program games, that's all you need to know.

Not playable, but it's a cutscene. Correct?

Well, they break the flow of the introduction for one. We go from a custcene to, BAM, playable sequence with no forewarning. Maybe if they were flashbacks in the form of cutscenes rendered in Halo 4's engine, but not playable.

I think more likely:

The game could start with you waking up in the cryopod, then begin with the usual tutorial stuff (looking/moving/jumping/etc) and then have you running through the ship to get to the opening to see the giant Forerunner planet, then cue some sort of cutscene.

The Forward Unto Dawn ship could be perfect to use as a tutorial section. I also figure that the Chief might swap out his armour as part of the tutorial (or some thing weird to validate the changes; since there was apparently story behind it). Something like "So this Frigate just so happened to have a prototype of the Mk.VII MJOLNER. Try it on."..."Press X to Equip Mk. VII", etc.

Remember that Bungie isn't making this one, so the usual traditions might not be there.

If 343 pulls that...*all my rage*.

Yes, but they're apparently starting an entirely new trilogy, so they'll be wanting to attract entirely new fans too. Tutorials aren't tradition as much as they are necessary.

i think playable flashbacks with H4 engine would be very helpful as a tutorial and a summary for main Halo events to get players re-equanted
