"You have a lot of questions. I'm going to assume that they're all hypothetical." - Urk

But there is actually no way I can forgive you for not fixing reach while you had control of it. 343 has it for what... a month and everything I hate about reach is being fixed.

Thank you 343. Seriously bungie... were you lazy, blind or deaf?

Been playing the Halo trilogy since 2003, new to the whole forum thing ;)
Currently residing in Sweden, maybe i'll head out to Seattle in a couple of years...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Playing Battlefield 3 (PC) atm, add me on Origin / Battlelog: Entrophee

I feel the same way BUT Bungie's always wanted to be an Independent company, not stuck to Microsoft.

Back in 2007 they signed a contract with Microsoft that they could make 2 more games: Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach and after that; no more Halo... Since April 2010 Bungie have been working with Activision Blizzard on their new project: Destiny

They are defiantly busy :)

Fixing an already-released game < Making a great new game perfect from scratch.

Also, maybe Bungie wanted 343 to get off to a good start?

  • 08.27.2011 6:36 AM PDT

I don't think Bungie were allowed to release a TU. I remember reading in a Weekly Update some time after the release of the Noble Map Pack that Bungie were only able to do Matchmaking updates from then on.

If that's true then I do find it pretty lame the Microsoft would shut Bungie out of their own game like that.

that would certainly calm down the stupid anti-343 trolls who criticise 343 despite the fact that they haven't even released any games (yet).

Sadly, something tells me 343 will get hate no matter how good their games are. But it'll certainly help to point out how dumb the trolls are if this TU works.

United Armed Forces

Bungie never had to "fix" much. Reach is already great, except for some bugs and a few little mickey mouse details that aren't game-breaking.

All 343 is doing is making an update that will get the butthurt "pros" back into reach.

Marine: "Got a new contact. Unknown Classification!"
Lord Hood: "If it isn't one of ours, take it out."
MC: "This is bus 117, can anyone hear me? Over."
Lord Hood: "Isolate that signal. Master Chief, you mind telling me you're doing at that school?"
MC: "Sir... picking up these kids."

They needed to FIX Juggernaut customs.

They're broken and have yet to be fixed since day 1. It was my favorite gametype with my buddies, and we all sat there ready to play when we got the game, thought we made a good predator forge map and gametype, played it, and nothing happened. Multiple times tried and nothing. Ruined our night really, we had some great Halo 3 Juggernaut gametypes and couldn't wait to make some new things in reach.

Maybe 343 will get on that.

I'm watching you Bungie.

ಠ_ಠ

I take it none of you watched the hour long video on the front page? Halo Reach was the game THEY "Bungie" wanted, it was the Halo THEY always wanted. The changes THEY made is for a reason. Bungie liked what THEY did. It was the Halo that felt the best for gameplay and really grabbed the gameplay THEY have always wanted along with graphics. This was their final Halo and the Halo they always wanted. They didn't really care what we said about certain things. Because they liked the idea of AL, or bloom. You want to know why? Because again it's the game THEY always wanted, not so much as us for a change. THEY took a leap and the game still made a large sum of money so Halo Reach was successful no matter how much we complain about the things Bungie liked and we didn't. Go watch the "Brave New World."

THEY = Bungie

That's all fine and make sense, I'm not againt bloom or anythin, but I don't see why THEY would ignore a bugged Custom Gametype. And yes it's bugged it's been talked about but nothing's been done.

Makes me wonder if anything else is but that's not the point.

Juggernaut has never been a high-priority gametype. It's hardly in MM - rumble pit.

If you really want it fixed, stop whining about it here(don't say you're not) and go to the 343 forums, since BS Angel supposedly reads almost everything there.

Sorry, I'm pretty sure it's relevant since this is about bungie's failure to fix things and the Juggernaut problem is a BUG. I'm only supporting the posters statement with this FACT.

See how that works? Sort of relevant don'y you think. Besides, it's an example, I get that it, being a bug, doesn't fall under your explanation to justify the non-bugs people whine about on this forum what with you saying it's "Bungie's game", but a bug is a BUG, and it's pretty bad when it causes something to NOT work.

Whining? I don't need to whine about it, it will not be fixed, I have no faith in it. Whining implies that it's I expect something out of it, I don't. I'm merely agreeing with the OP and contributing.

It's a bug. It keeps me from enjoying a piece of the game I paid for. I don't care WHO'S priority it is or how relevant that gametype is to the community the game was SUPPOSED to ship with Juggernaut working and it DIDN'T. Telling me that it's "not that important" doesn't make it any less of a bug, it is a problem, and it hasn't been fixed, it's not an opinion about how "armor lock" or "bloom" changes the game play, it is a FACT that it is a BUG and it is BROKEN i.e. incapable of functioning the way it was intended to.

And of course it's hardly in MM... it's bugged.

I think 343 was in charge of the title update from the beginning. Not Bungie. Bungie was just in charge of the playlists until August.

I've not yet seen any anti-343 trolls.

I have seen intelligent people honestly concerned about halo's future, and not blindly trusting "It'll be awesome just cause"

Edit: I've yet to see anybody disliking the current info on Glasslands and Halo 4 that honestly wants 343 to fail. I believe we all want it to succeed and not flop in the story area.

Plus, doesnt every 360 game only get 1 free title update? I guess bungie saved it for 343. and did the best they can with playlist updates. :D
