If you don't like Call of Duty (even I don't), accept that others do they're not doing anything directly to annoy you, it's a simple FPS and everyone has it. Don't give us any "true Halo fan" stuff either because even Bungie probably plays Call of Duty and they're the creators of our own; Halo.
Thats the problem. Everyone has it. The only reason I spend my money on Call of Duty is because my friends do it, who expect their friends to do it, who excpet their friends to do it, and so on and so forth. If my friends didn't play Call of Duty, then neither would I. Before I get too deep into that, I'll handle this true Halo fan stuff.
For some people, Halo is more than just a video game. (This includes myself) It's quite nearly a life style. That is a fact.
The reason it is so important to many people is two main things:
1. Because the series is so deep and gratifying (as in, the amount of information out there about it), that you can get lost in it, which is exactly what some people need sometimes.
2. Because Halo helped you through a rough time in your life.
For me, its both. Halo helped my sorry ass through Middle School, because I got bullied a lot. Now, it's become a part of the fabric of my being, and I can't let it go. That's what a true fan is being about.
My point is, don't dis the "true fans" because there is a story behind every one of us, and yes, we do play Call of Duty sometimes, but we never enjoy it like we do playing Halo, and it just ends up being frustrating and a troll-the-little-kids-fest.
I am very proud to say that I have never spent a single dime on anything wit "Call of Duty" on it.
I have never been impressed, or even tempted by, anything about those games. The Graphics suck, the sound track doesn't fit with the game, and every new one is a simple copy & paste/re-skin of the previous years model. They can't even innovate on their maps, and aside from the "skin" of the buildings/landscape, it is the exact same maps every single time.
And from what I've seen of their online multi-player when my friends play it, the maps are too da** small for that many people running around in it.
CoD isn't worth $6 much less $60... and personally I would never buy that Modern Warfail P.O.S. just because my friends bought it.
In short, I will never buy any CoD crap because IMHO it is substandard programming and over-hyped marketing that the game has no way of ever delivering on.
Zombies on the Moon? They're getting desperate now. lol They must be truly worried about Battlefield 3 (amongst others) crushing MW3 if they are releasing this kind of crap to try to keep their fanbase.
The beginning of the end for CoD comes out this fall with Battlefield 3. Bank on it.
;)
