Well, unless 343 is going to reuse assets from ODST's level Data Hive, what else could it be?

Take a close look at the environment in the animation deal, it looks like the portion of Data Hive where you meet the NMPD officer.

"I'm afraid of the man I'll become if I lay my life down for the people I don't even care for"

It's probably part of one of the employees resume..... Probably using Halo assets but completely unrelated to the game.

There are two things a man should never be angry at... what you can change, and what you cannot.

Slightly off topic but could it be that maybe 343i was unsure of an antagonist they want to use so they assigned Nate Walpole to create this and send it to the public. Then they could monitor forums like this to get our reactions for use in the game.

You know, without revealing anything. -snide

KIWIZ RULE THE WORLD!

Its just that nobody knows it yet...

Has anyone considered that this could be from some other project (not game) that 343i is working on?

If it involves Halo and psychic powers, I'm out.

...as long as they remain true to the formula.

The formula of the old trilogy?

Think about how Spartan armor works. They think certain things, and it happens. Couple that with some kind of mobile tech that vibrates, bends, does whatever to the molecules, cells, all of that, allowing for solid objects to pass through each other?

Uh, no. The MJOLNIR armor is linked to the Spartan's CNI, which is linked so closely to their Central Nervous System that it requires a skilled, trained technician to not kill the subject. Then, the CNI picks up electronic neural signals as their sent to the Spartan's different limbs, fingers, etc, and it instantly sends it to the MJOLNIR armor, almost before the Spartan's limbs receive the electrical signal.

It's nothing magic, and isn't a manipulation of outside matter. That being said, it is entirely possible that it is advanced Forerunner (or even Precursor) technology.

There is a huge difference though from jumping around to phasing someone through a wall and holding them in mid-air.

How do you know it wasn't a targeted, specific manipulation of Magnetic Fields? Bend the wall out (assuming it's metal,) and drag the soldier's armor - and thus the solider - closer?

Well, I'm sorry to sound snide, but you won't be missed. We don't lament every gamer that can't accept new horizons, and it's quite possible that this has a vaguely scientific and believable explanation.

Now, all that being said, I doubt the actual implementation to this animation. My main reason? I can't believe that no one else noticed the Batman music. (Specifically The Dark Knight.) I think 343i took a page from Bungie and tossed something out to "troll" fans and keep us guessing. It may be something from 343i, but there's nothing that says it's going to be used. Remember the Reach "files" that mentioned Sgt. Johnson?

So, I do have a question. Why do people like you always take the smallest thing possible (the music of Halo 4 - as of yet unheard - on the Waypoint forums,) blow it completely out of proportion, and then decide that it's going to be the worst game possible?

Because if 343 can't even adhere to their own canon, why should think otherwise? The same thing happened with Fallout 3. It's a fun RPG, but completely decimated Fallout lore, now I don't enjoy it anymore. Thank goodness for New Vegas though.

Well this might not even be implemented in Halo 4 and if it is, I hope it only makes the game more interesting than it already is, like a boss, nothing too frequent.

So you know everything about the Halo Canon, right? You know the extent of Precursor or Forerunner technology? Good to know.

If Halo 4 showcases psychic powers then it will just confirm our suspicions of a non-Bungie led Halo world.

Yes, but even those aren't supernatural. The callsigns are pre-programmed IFF designations that register in the HUD, and all the comm systems are tied in with the same mechanics that operate the MJOLNIR system, using the Spartan's neural activity to send electrical commands to the hardware of the MJOLNIR's communications.

As for the Armor Abilities:

Sprint
Sprint is basically a system hack by Kat. It overrides the safety limits for the MJOLNIR suit, allowing the Spartan to run to their full limit - which is seen as potentially hazardous.

Armor Lock
Armor Lock is another system hack, but this one utilizes the shields to a fuller potential. It draws energy from the MJOLNIR suit, rendering the Spartan immobile, and boots the shields past their normal strength and duration.

Evade
Evade more or less boots the Spartan's agility, optimizing interface with the CNI and MJOLNIR suit.

Drop shield and Hologram I don't really have a good descriptive example for, and Active Camo and Jetpack are somewhat self-explanatory and technically understood.

Hanger one I just shredded with the SMGs until ammo was out and I just threw 'nades like a boss while BRing.

My experience playing Cairo Station on Legendary

This doesn't seem too Halo-y. Aside from the Scout helmet, this just seems like fan-fiction. If I showed you my own personal concept drawing and said it was 343's a lot of people would question it, but even more people would go on and believe it really was 343's.

I'm not saying it's supernatural. The way you explained it, that's what I mean by how the "psychic" Forerunner powers are activated.

Punks not Dead.

HALO 4 NEW FEATURES:

BE LIKE DARTH VADER!!!

USE THE FORCE THE GOOD WAY OR GO TO THE DARK SIDE AND UNLEASH YOUR FULL POWER!

I don't think this is real.

I too would like a source for that.

If it was indeed real and in H4, I'm not a fan of the Star Wars like "force" powers. I would be pretty disappointed.
These "powers" might be for a specific character in the story. And not for multiplayer.

read the description on the animator's site. It said "throwaway ideas" meaning this isn't likely to be in H4.

The mere fact these were even considered scares me.
