in my opinion, i think Halo is the greatest FPS game that came out (all Halo series) i cant believe a person at my school (also in my class >=( ) thinks that Halo sucks, and CounterStrike is way better, i think CS realy sucks (no offense to people who like CS but it does) i have both CS1 and CS condition zero, and i cant believe i wasted 50 bucks on them, because unlike Halo, Call of Duty, and all those other war FPS games, in CS the graphics sucks total a** (yes i know its an old game, but hear me out) and the game has nothing to do with war (considering its the GUlf War-based game) i mean theres no mortars going off, theres no running like hell to dodge artillery bullets, and all those other crazy and fun war tactics you do in Halo and Call of Duty series, CS is just stupid, you run around until you see an enemy, then you try to outgun them, if you survive and kill him, you go hunt for another enemy to kill, its so boring and meaningless, if you have ever seen war movies, especially Gulf War movies such as Black Hawk Down, and Jarhead, CS is nothing like it, in my opinion, Halo is the best FPS next to other FPS games of corse, and CS sucks total acorn suckking shizzles (i made that word up...)
#1. Please use proper grammar in your typing.
#2. Please don't bump old threads.
#3. Don't be so reckless and ignorant to call Counter-Strike stupid just because it doesn't suit your tastes. Counter-Strike is the #1 online action game in the world. Thousands, excuse me, tens of thousands of people play it at any time. The figure may actually be bigger. So it's not a game you're used to because you're used to so many first person shooters where you get shot a billion times without dying and here you go down with a headshot, like you would in real-life. Most people find it refreshing compared to most games where you can take a guy down with a single bullet to the chest while it takes each of them fifty dozen clips to take you down.
Now, I don't know where you got that impression or idea, but it's not supposed to have ANYTHING to do with war, and it is NOT the "GUlf War-based game". There's not supposed to be any mortars going off, no running to avoid artillery rounds (they're called rounds, not bullets), because if you actually read what the game was about on the back of box, it does not mention being the "GUlf War-based game", because the game isn't based off of wars! It's Terrorists versus Counter-Terrorists, it's not a country on country war. There's a difference between wars and terrorist situations! It does not say anywhere that it is based off of any wars. I've seen Black Hawk Down, and that takes place in Mogadishu, Somalia, not in the Gulf War. It wasn't even a war to begin with! Jarhead may take place in Iraq, where the Gulf War took place, but the main characters didn't even fight anybody! Did you notice that? Sure they sheltered themselves in fox holes while there were mortars raining on them, but they didn't actually go and shoot anybody, did they? Nope. That's if you're even talking about the Persian Gulf War to begin with. (you weren't so clear about it, because you just called it "the GUlf War") Now, if you meant to say that Counter-Strike was the "Modern-Conflict/Modern-War" based game, then you should have said so! Even then, it is not based off of wars. Otherwise you would see tanks and fighters and giant bombers in the game. That stuff isn't used in small-scale conflicts like terrorist situations, which Counter-Strike is all about.
And there's a lot of fun war tactics in CS as well as the Call of Duty and Halo series. Counter-Strike is not stupid. It's not boring and meaningless, it's tense and exciting, it's about who makes the right move, who outsmarts the other person.
I am this [ ] close from calling you the retarded scum of the forums for being so ignorant, but my better self tells me I shouldn't say it even if it's true.
#4. i so agree, as i have said on my latest post on this topic, i hate all valve and steam gamesYou only said you hated Counter-Strike and Condition Zero. What about Red Orchestra, or Lost Coast? There's lots of good stuff there.
#5. Acorn suckking shizzles? First, you can't make up words, only I can. Secondly, you were not the first person to invent the word 'shizzles'.
What kind of name is Ipjuunin? (Don't try to throw that crap right back at me, because Master is from Master Chief, and Kim is my last name.)

#6.Congratulations, you've depleted my rant bar for the day, Ipjuunin. Now all forum noobs can rest for I have lost the energy to chastise anymore. Unless it involves banshee noobs.
I would, but after trying it on my new, new PC (it never touched the one in between), which is a jump from a 32mb mx440se to a 512mb 6800gs super i'm amazed at how awful it looks, even if it is a few years old. Had gearbox never heard of anti-aliasing or anisotropic filtering?! So i uninstalled it and threw the disc into my box of "things never to be played again".Like everybody says, elmicker, Gearbox really screwed up the port to the PC version. It does not matter if many games look better even if Halo PC has only been out for a few years (F.E.A.R., Doom 3, Quake 4, Battlefield 2, etc.), Gearbox still screwed up the port so it makes the game look worse more than it was (compared to other, more new games).
Halo would do perfectly fine without the campaign in my opinion.
Well I wouldn't buy it.
I whole-heartedly agree. Because the game is no Counter-Strike. (Pardon the inside pun.)
