Subject: With the Warthog confirmed for H4, do you think the UNSC will be?

I am Field Master Avu Med 'Telcam, Servant of the Abiding Truth, and I have many brothers.

A god who creates tools is still a god. It is not for us to impose qualifications upon the divine or presume to guess its intentions.

Because Forerunners totally can't help you out...
But what fun would it be without Sergeant Stacker?

So you prefer gameplay over the storyline?

Sergeant Stacker isn't really canon. He's been in every Halo game, as a Marine and an ODST. And I'll be damned if Stacker misses out on Halo 4.

I feel like ONI will be snooping around, but no huge UNSC involvement.

@accordingto343

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

Yes, because you know, ONI would totally be snooping around outside the Orion Arm at some mysterious Forerunner construct.

If I remember correctly 343 said Glasslands ties into Halo 4. Since ONI seems to be one of the more prominent figures in that trilogy perhaps we'll learn more once Glasslands and the other two books come out.

I believe that this will be some form of implementation:

Your half of the frigate will have some supplies left in it and cortana will control some kind of transport vehicle to get them from the ship half to you on the battlefield.

that is what I believe will happen.

Really now? You think I don't know that? I won't yell at you and get into a flame war. I'm just disappointed. That was totally unnecessary.

that's because you thought that Halo 4 should have UNSC. What? It shows that you never bothered to research about Human-Covenant War. Explain how this humanity is capable to recover 27 year of war in short of five years? And, explain how they can produce enough navy ships fast enough to replace their entire losses?

Glasslands, in my assumption, will describe that UNSC is still recovering.

Frankly, I don't think you understand how the war affects the nation and aftermath of war affecting the nation's capability to recover or other something.

I dont know if you know this but after/during WW2 USA had one of its biggest economic booms of all time. So it is possible that they can easily recover in 5 years. We went to Korea 10? years after WW2. Its possible.

Difference. How much damage did America take in WW2? Very little. All the factories and cities were still there.

The UNSC has lost everything besides the sol system, and a few inner colonies. Sol System is in ruins, and the inner colonies might not be in that great shape (the ignored ones probably okay, but they may have no production capabilities).

The Human population was massively cut, and with the ruined sol system (aka Earth and it's fellow planets)... recovering in a few years is massively unlikely.

The UNSC will likely be in Halo 4. There were concepts of destroyed ships and pelicans. They're in. I think Karens Trilogy will dive into why they arrived at the LP. They said it leads into Halo 4.

I disagree if Halo 4 is set in early 2560s. NOTICE: a key word of 2560s.

That's too early for UNSC to be suddenly recovered and capable to send navy ships. Oh no, you have not read several books or even went on Halopedian on Human-Covenant War. It lasted twenty-seven years of war and it has taken toll to UNSC and Covenant considerably. That losses made by the UNSC is too great for UNSC to recover quickly...

However, if it is set post 2610s, then it would be acceptable. Besides that warthog model is confirmed in Halo 4 but it doesn't prove that UNSC is in Halo 4. Warthog is getting a simple graphical update, that's all.

Besides, some concept art may get cut in the game since they can't fit everything in a game. They has to make some sacrifices.
What role does the year play into weather or not the UNSC is at the LP? Tell me that. All I said is that there are concepts of UNSC ships and pelicans and that Karens novel plays into Halo 4. I also know that concepts aren't final. Yeah that scene might not be in it and such. However you don't show concepts of UNSC in Halo 4 if they're not in Halo 4. That's like making a game during the Forerunner-Flood war and showing concepts of Assault Carriers after what? 2 years of developement?

Example: Halo 2.

They cut of contents such as Forerunner tank as it was shown in concept art.

Also timeline is KEY of determining UNSC's capabilites. If it's set in 2554 or 2555, they haven't fully recovered then. If it's more like 2580 to 2600s, sure, they have recovered.

Besides, it sounds like you can't live without UNSC or Covenant at Halo 4. ;/

Didn't we not know about any of that though until a while after Halo 2 came out though? To my understanding of how the process with concept art works is it generally isn't revealed beforehand unless it's absolutely certain that the idea will be used in some form or another. And from everything 343i had shown, said, or avoided saying, I think it's pretty obvious that characters and factions from the Trilogy will be making a tangible return in the Reclaimer Trilogy. Hell, even the very name of the new trilogy would indicate to anyone with even a most basic knowledge of Halo's human history that Humanity will be playing a major role in the new trilogy.

What timeline? There is no timeline for any events as of yet. If you're referring to the Encyclopedia, I wouldn't put too much stock in something that people have pointed out is only inferred and you have to make educated guesses to come up with some of those dates. I haven't read the Encyclopedia so I can't say this with any degree of certainty, but is it not more a general collection of all information on Halo, not all of which is necessarily canon? What I mean by not necessarily canon is that it keeps things as a record whether they're official canon or not, like some of the marketing materials for instance? Anyways I wouldn't put so much stock in information based from marketing materials we know aren't really entirely accurate like Believe.
