Armour lock now looks far more appealing.

Also we only discuss cannon stuff in the universe fourm not gameplay, unless the 2 conflict.

I have not heard better news in all of Halo history! I've been waiting for them to put that gun back in for a very long time, along with most of Halo's original fanbase :D Reach keeps getting better!

Being overpowered is what made it fun in Halo CE. Would I like it in all gametypes? No. But I do like having the option to use it in custom games! I never saw why they didn't just put it as an option in customs to please both crowds. It is what made Halo CE so memorable. Like the Golden Gun in Goldeneye.

Just remember the reason nobody complained about the pistol was because all the other weapons were overpowered as well.

It disturbs me greatly that you believe Halo 2 was created because of the pistol. Need I remind that the pistol recieved a tremendous nerf and no other weapon matches CE's pistol strength until that awful Title Update that obliterated weapon balance?

The pistol may be overpowered(and may not be that difficult to master), but it is not a weapon that can just be picked up and used by anybody. Not everyone will be able to pull off kill after kill with the gun. Some, in fact, may never get the hang of it and hate those who can because of it.

The pistol was only so powerful because it was Keyes' personal sidearm.

There's no way the new one can top that.

True, having an overpowered weapon that is easy to use would negate the use of any other one.

However, I don't believe that everyone will get easy kills with the magnum. Many people probably, but not everyone.

And even then you have to consider aim and level of bloom. Even those that can use it effectively may not always win with it.

"No bloom" gametypes, huh? That will be interesting...and possibly a shame.

The Magnum having a consistent performance at all ranges is part of what makes it great and even without bloom you'll still need to feather your shots and have dead on aim.
