Subject: So, what is it REALLY like working at Bungie?

Wake me, when you need me.

I'm sure a lot of Bungie fans here (including me) have had or have a desire to work at Bungie Studios sometime in their future. I know a lot of you probably think it's all fun and games from what we seen being shown off by Bungie. But I'm definitely sure most of the jobs come with lots of stress and hard work. Which makes me glad that they signed Fomans mom back on with the team.

So, Bungie, besides the large quantities of liquor, bacon, and fomans mom; what is the average work day like?

Five years older and wiser
The fires are burning, I'm fire, never tire
Slay warriors in the forests, and on hire

I heard they treat their contractors as sub-humans.

I heard they treat their contractors as sub-humans.

I heard they kill their interns when they're done with them and use them for holiday dinners.

It's all a myth, but I believe.

The name's Ian, Game Designer at Whisper Game Studios, very off-and-on Bungie.net visitor and avid Bungie fan overall. Message me if you wish.

Referencing 2 Bungie games at once, clever.

I spend too much time here.. too much time indeed.

I tweet?

You sit inside a cubicle, plugging away for 8 or more hours a day. Visine just within reach inside your top draw just in case the multi-monitor display once again starts roasting your retinas, a bottle of Pepto in the bottom draw for those days where the Chinese food you had for lunch just doesn't sit just right.

It's not all work though, there's always casual conversations going on. Maybe an office game or two, breaks are spent playing foosball, air hockey, some various arcade cabinet, or something.

Then if you aren't making a push to finish something on the very detailed and specific schedule everyone was sent in their Outlook inbox and that you have pinned to your cubicle wall, you get to go home. There you relax, be it with your family, a friend, maybe alone. However work is never pushed too far from your mind, always tugging at you. You like to think you don't bring your work home with you, but you know that's bull. You're always thinking of tomorrow and what you can improve on, it's just how it goes.

Then tomorrow comes... and it's as if someone accidentally left it on "repeat".

Oh terribly so, not at all pleasant. I would not at all recommend sitting in one willingly.

Half Man.
Half Horse.
Half Machine.
All "Jerk Who's Really Bad at Math."

PS
No, I do not want to join your clan/group.

Sitting in a cubicle isn't so bad, provided your boss isn't a douche.

Mine, however, took offense to the little pirate flag I had sticking up over my cubicle and forced me to take it down with threats of yet another visit to HR. =/

Didn't like my "Art of War" daily calender, either.

Contracting anywhere will not be the same as being a FTE, but I heard that contracting there is pretty darn awesome.
