Subject: Why Aren't the Rules Enforced in the Reach Forum?

Seriously. I just wanted an answer, and this guy is just a total jackass... If I pulled that -blam!- here, I'd get banned for a week.

Why are the Reach Forumgoers allowed to do this? -_-

"I don't care if it's God's own anti-Son of a -blam!- Machine or a giant hula-hoop!"

All forums and their users must abide by the forum rules. If you see someone breaking said rules, report them and move on. Or PM a moderator.

  • 08.28.2011 5:58 PM PDT

They should, but they don't, and get away with it.

They will not get away with it if users use the report function, or if you PM a mod. However, don't expect that mod to reply back, it's none of your business as to whether or not the user was punished.

Oh God, stop trying to be a Mod.

I spend too much time here.. too much time indeed.

I tweet?

Funny. If you're referring to the poster you're bickering with, you should both be banned. Him for starting it and you for not having enough common sense to let it go.

Lol. He answers the question that you asked by making this thread, and you accuse him of trying to be a mod?

  • 08.28.2011 6:08 PM PDT

No, but I detest answers like that.
'It's none of your business as to whether or not the user was punished.' Oh, come off your high horse.

The point I was trying to make is that even though the user was dealt with, you probably will not receive a notification.

Oh, well I'd notice. His posts would disappear. :P

Half Man.
Half Horse.
Half Machine.
All "Jerk Who's Really Bad at Math."

PS
No, I do not want to join your clan/group.

The rules are enforced there; the forum ninjas simply don't frequent the Reach forum as much as they do the Community/Universe forums.

Sooner or later, someone will either take a glance at the Reach forum and take care of things, or someone will notice the report queue filling up and go check it out.

  • 08.28.2011 6:39 PM PDT

Eh, I just let the thread die. The fact still remains that that guy was a douche.

  • 08.28.2011 6:43 PM PDT

Just because he isn't banned instantly doesn't mean he's "allowed" to break the rules.

  • 08.28.2011 6:45 PM PDT

They are, though. It happens often, and the forum has a reputation because of things like this.

Things move very fast in that forum, but the only thing you can do is report and move on.
Sure, sometimes people might get away with things but that's inevitable.

  • 08.28.2011 6:52 PM PDT

It doesn't matter. We know we can't (and shouldn't) be jerks, and that's why this forum is much better than that one.

What part of "the ninjas do not frequent the Reach forum" was unclear? People are not allowed to break the rules there and will be dealt with eventually.

The ninjas aren't paid to do this, and they're not obligated to babysit the Reach forum 24/7. Just do the responsible thing and report the thread, and move on; if enough people report it, it will get noticed by a ninja and it will be dealt with.

I've seen plenty of threads locked, posts deleted, and users banned in the Reach forum. Rules are enforced, but the forum ninjas are not omnipotent. Stop complaining and just be patient.

Realistically, this entired thread could be interpreted as you criticizing the moderators and how they handle things and that could end with you being disciplined along with the guy you're so upset about. It's happened before and can easily happen again.

Take that advice as you will; it's certainly no skin off my back of one of the ninjas decides to take offense at your complaining.

The Reach forum is always in chaos.

  • 08.28.2011 6:57 PM PDT

Responses like this annoy me. Give me an opinion, fine, but do not speak with omniscience. Please, do not talk to me as if I do not know all of this. I expected the "Ninjas are just volunteers" line eventually, but I've never seen anyone banned for criticizing the Moderators. Please, along with the other guy, do not speak as if you know how they work or what they do. I was just pointing out that they get away with a lot more

Thanks, man.

I got banned once for posting "inb4lock" yet I see hundreds of those every day go by with out bans :p I got a good laugh out of the ban but if they are going to do it to one person they should to all others and not just how they are feeling at the moment.

I have and I do. It happens here and it happens on other sites. Point is that you're playing with fire here and it could burn you.

Should you find yourself slapped with a warning or ban over this thread in the next few hours, don't say that no one warned you.

  • 08.28.2011 7:05 PM PDT

tsujen! One of the very few nice people in that forum. Him and CmdrScott were the only two who were exceptionally helpful and not rude.

I still remember you, buddy! ;)
