Classified Document Classified SECTION III: Office of Naval Intelligence

All subjects have been crippled beyond all measure, most of them at least... It is interesting to point out that one of them died from the intense levels of pain. We didn't bother with him because we thought him, weak... expendable. However, his training record states that he was one of the best. A favourite of CPO Mendez.

Always makes calculations, knows when to fight or flight and know how to act like a Spartan.

Lets bring him back...

Prologue: Back from the dead

Jolt, Light, Darkness... Jolt, Light, Darkness... Jolt, Light, Darkness.

The process just repeated itself - what in God's name was happening?

Jolt, Light, Darkness.... Jolt, Light... uncontrollable urge to cough. the Spartan quickly opened his eyes and coughed loudly, clutching his chest, uncontrollable pain. It was everywhere.

He needed for it to stop.

"He's back... We got him." The female voice stated, it sounded far away, distant and muffled.

"Give him a moment to get his bearings... he was dead for almost 30 Years after all..." The same familiar female voice ordered the first voice, she also sounded distant.

He opened his mouth to talk but all that came out was coughs, unbearable coughs, liquid spurted out of his mouth and he continued to cough. Desperately trying to inhale air.

It was beginning to aggravate him, he let the liquid out and once he was done coughing, wiped his mouth. He blinked his eyes.

"Better?" That same female voiced asked, it was extremely familiar but he couldn't remember it.

Another cough, "Yes." He said flatly and searched for the source of her voice.

He saw a woman... a very old woman wearing that same old white jacket that every ONI officer like her wore. She had grey hair, and grey-blue eyes. Ice-cold expression - and she was his mom, not by blood but by heart.

"Did it work?" He asked her, and squinted his eyes slightly, he wasn't in the same bed as he was before the augmentations work.

"We don't know yet, but there were some complications." She said and paused for a moment. "You died."

His eyes widened and he took in a deep breathe and he smiled at what he though was a joke. It clearly was not, because she was still staring at him. He felt stupid as he wiped that smile off his face and nodded slowly.

"How long was I-" He was about to ask but she already knew his question.

"roughly 25-30 years." She stated. "you're now about 40 years old. Just like every other spartan.

"You were... in Cryostasis, so you look the same you did as when... you were getting the augmentations... except, your eyes are a deep-crystal-blue and you have massive black circles underneath your eyes." She stated simply, showing almost no emotion - but he saw hints of them, it was one of his passive specialties. He could sense and see emotions just from looking at a face or hearing a voice. She seemed sympathetic, or somewhere along that line. A hint of sorrow was in her voice - or was it guilt?

"What... is the year?" He asked her, he did calculations and cared not to hear the four numbers from himself.

"2552... and we tried to revive our others... who failed to survive the augmentations... you're our only success so far." She informed him, he was the best, fastest, deadliest... he may still be but... he was gone for almost 3 decades. Irrelevant, he had to obtain his 'kit' and get ready for action.

"Just as calculated... Now... what was Phase III?" He asked her, she simply smiled at his remembrance, she had assigned him specially for her own little gift, or so he believed.

"Come with me." She ordered, the Spartan simply nodded as he rose off the bed and followed the Proffessor. She led him through several lit corridors and occasionally told him to hurry up because he was moving too slow - and hurry up is exactly what he did once he remembered how to walk like a normal person.

His feet were bare and he began to shiver as they met with the cold floor, and the damn air-conditioning didn't help one bit.

She seemed to notice and either cared but didn't want to show it or figured he could tough out a little cold, and he could - but he liked attention - and she sure as hell knew that little secret better than anyone.

They soon entered a room, and she looked back at him. "You ready to claim your shield and Weapon, spartan?" She asked him.

He immediately remembered the battle of Thermopylae and what the original spartans did that day, three-hundred. Three hundred men put a dent in half a million persians, using the pass - His thought were abruptly ended.

"Well?" She asked as his mind trailed.

"Yes." He stated simply as she pressed a code series and the door slowly hissed open. His eyes widened as he saw the armor in the center of the room. It was... beautiful. He couldn't take his eyes off of it and Halsey seemed to notice.

"You going to put on the MJOLNIR Commando Class armor or just stand there gawking like a insignificant child in a toy store?" She asked him, and he snapped out of his daze.

"Thanks for ruining the moment." He said.

"We must hurry, you haven't much time before noble arrives." She stated to him.

"Yes ma'am." He stated simply and nodded before several machines circled him, they were mechanical arms and began installing his suit. Starting with some sort of gel layer, and his boots. They wrapped around his feet and seemed to close around them permanently, then came his leggings - and soon came his body armor, and finally the shoulder pads and gauntlets. Just as well came a Tactical Wrist Pad.

"That was fast." He said flatly and looked at Halsey, his voice was amplified and a Heads up Display loaded and a meter slowly began to fill, he was engulfed in a gold-hue that slowly faded, for all he saw.

"Shielding system enabled and working optimally." Halsey stated as she just tossed a rock at him, it fell to the floor after bouncing off of the air surrounding his armor.

"When can I kill something?" He asked her.

"Soon enough, but your main directive is to get off this planet, it is being glassed by the covenant..." She said to him, as a fact, and when she said something like that she meant it.

"What about you?" He asked her.

"I have some business to take care of, now get out of here. Take the elevator that noble arrives in, make sure you remain cloaked." she ordered him with a small but detectable smile.

"How-" He was about to ask.

"You'll figure it out, you always do." She said to him, putting an end to his question on how to use the cloaking device. That 'matter-of-fact' stuff was annoying to him, but he smiled, he always did figure things out.

"Yes ma'am." He said to her, turning and leaving. A nav point was placed on his hud. "Theres your exit." She said to him as he began his walk.

Subject: Halo: Spartan-019 "Ghost" [FF]

My Grandfather was a Desert Ranger, my Father was a Veteran Ranger in the NCR. My father was killed by Caesar's Legion and they took my Brother. It's now my responsibility to uphold the mantle of the Rangers and avenge my Father and find my Brother.

It's good. But I wouldn't make him have the same armor as Carter. Spartan II's usually have standard MJOLNIR armor. And Dr. Halsey didn't know NOBLE Team. Like...she heard of them but didn't interact with them. She wasn't involved with the Spartan III Program.

It sounds like there is a kind of emergency, going on, and exceptions are often made during such times.

I like the sound of this story so far

I need to re-write this, so that it says she goes from another building with the Spartan in tow, because he has been in Cryostasis as one of those spartans that died during augmentation, he was 'the lucky dead one'. No crippling.

His armor isn't the same as Carter, I didn't describe the color and I clearly stated that he has 'all-commando' Whilst Carter has the very identifiable Mark V Shoulder pad.

What happened to your other stories that you have yet to complete?
They were all deemed failures, expendable... and I simply lost the will to finish them... yes I do have two accounts.

Chapter One: The 'Plan'

A secure and heavily encrypted channel opened with the Spartan. Spartan-019 to be precise. "So she and Cortana's other 'fragment' did it then, hmmmm?" The voice asked and paused again. "I'm, Ghost... your... directive, You're to retrieve me. You're to retrieve me at the following coordinates." It explained in a dark voice. The voice seemed to like hearing itself speak.

A small marker appeared on his HUD with a number and a number as well as a letter beside it appeared. It was his primary Objective, and he'd carry it out.

It wasn't in atmosphere according to calculations, "And don't waste time making calculations... I'm aboard a Covenant Ship, Corvette Class. They're transporting me to a larger ship known simply as 'Ominous Shadow'. It's an Assault Carrier."

The Spartan's vision was replaced by a ship as he ascended the small hill, it zoomed out and went into a small corner, allowing him to watch the image of the ship slowly rotating 360 degrees before it left his visor as quickly as it appeared and walk without hinderence. He did not like what he saw.

"My firewalls exceed expectations, they're most likely going to place me into their systems to try and break me with their very own ship-based AIs, artificial intelligence." Ghost stated as his position slowly moved, he was somehow able to establish a link while mobile and while his Data chip was being transfered. He was most likely one of the more advanced AIs.

"If they manage to break through most of my firewalls, which they will not. I am to self-shutdown and purge all memory before rebooting." Ghost added and stopped talking for a brief moment.

"What is the best way to get onto that Assault Carrier, Ghost?" Spartan-019 asked him as he finally spoke to 'Ghost' as it called itself.

"I'd recommend you get out of the base first and then I will open a commlink with you once again." Ghost stated and Spartan-019 stared at the elevator as it descended. He saw several Spartans in the elevator. All with names displayed above their head. His cloaking system was active and he took the time to read the names.

Emile

Jun

Carter

Except... one, he didn't have a name above his head his clearance was Section III but so was -019's, yet he couldn't see the name, he most likely didn't even have a name. Just a number, for all of his life. Except before the unnamed was abducted. Forgotten, Memory wiped and his named deleted or lost from recorded. Or something along that line.

Spartan-019 squinted his eyes at the spartan, ever slightly. He didn't recognize him. Non of these 'Spartans' were his brothers, if it were orders. He'd kill them without hesitation - but they weren't his orders. His orders were to remain silent and move quickly, he had been pacing the elevator for nearly an hour - and right now. He was crouching at the side, waiting... waiting for Noble Team to Arrive so he could sneak out to the open world, for that entire hour. Halsey lectured him about what happened during the war. It was strange that she... and probably only she, could recount the entire War in one simple hour.

The ones known simply as the Elites, fight for honour and are the leaders of squads.

Grunts are they who follow the Elites, cowards except in large numbers, just like their name implies.

Jackals, bird like creatures that hunt in packs. They looked reptilian due to their ugly-eyes. One could say. Their eyes were awfully colourful and different however. Sight being in the Ultraviolet spectrum, the Jackals were excellent snipers and spotters.

Drones... or Buggers, they're the ones who swarm and come in massive numbers. The least number would be... a rough estimate of twenty per encounter. They were weak though and their strengths were having no fear, because they're too dumb to feel fear and their large numbers and ease of multiplication.

Hunters... their name makes you either think, small little guy that fight in packs and lurk in brush or hide in the enviroment... but the covenant always have a little trick up their sleeve. These hulks have the capability of killing a spartan with one blow. Depending on shield status and Variant or strength of shields and armor.

Brutes... their name says enough. They're description states that they are apelike creatures with a tendancy to use brute force or bladed weapons to kill a target in close quarters. They have no morals on the battlefield and will not hesitate to grab you by the throat or leg to simply toss you arround like some sort of child's plaything.

The Elevator made it to ground level and the Spartans stepped out, coming to a close with a conversation they were having with his, mom. Spartan-019 stepped in after they walked a short ways from the elevator. He pressed a button and the elevator ascended, he waited for himself to leave the line of sight of Noble Team before he deactivated his cloaking system. The elevator was still moving and a image of Dr. Halsey appeared on his hud with a flat line for her voice, it activated with a large triangle and some slight static before it finally settled down.

Smaller triangles appeared as Halsey began speaking. "Have you recieved word from Ghost?" She asked him.

"Yes." He answered and tapped the tips of his boots on the floor of the elevator which had now converted into a Tram, he was eager to kill something, all he had was a knife and the dropped hardware from dead soldiers. His respects and thanks, though nobody could read his mind, so he'd seem like a scavenging little ungrateful prick.

"Good. Oh and Gabriel... try not to let the other Spartans see you if you come across them, they might get jealous. Or call you spoiled, you're wearing a prototype Design of the Mark VII MJOLNIR Commando. It's all I could save, and for the record. Its at Section 0 clearance. So nobody except me and a select few people know about it. Thats why you can't exit or put that suit on Manually." She said to him, and she used his name. He hated that. Her face dissappeared and he took in a deep breath. What a priveledge, now he'd probably get blown up by an implanted self-destruct mechanism, were he to get caught by the covenant. Only to make sure they didn't get their hands on Human Technology despite their apparent 'being more technologically advanced than humans.'

Gabriel-019 sighed deeply as she said his name again. She was most likely just waiting for a time like this when he was probably leaving only to never see her again.

He removed the knife from its current resting place and ran his fully-gauntleted finger across the blade. His finger didn't even touch the hardened blade but a gold flare appeared, wrapping gently around the tip of his finger and made the display look fascinating, the flare slowly dissapated and he placed the knife back in its resting place and he smiled smugly. The knife would do.

The doors to the elevator opened and he made his way through several corridors, grunting as he saw the bodies of several marines in a single room. He stared at them. There was a MA37 ICWS, laying next to one of the marines, who was simply sprawled out across the floor with blood streaks leading out of the room. He most likely dragged himself in and died from blood loss. He was leaning against the wall. Facing the entrance to the room itself. Spartan-019 raised an eyebrow and picked up the weapon. He checked the ammo counter. The blue numbers simply told him it had; Eleven rounds left. The ICWS was mostly useless but he'd take it for now. He had no other weapon... and so he placed the weapon on Magnetic based holster on his back meant to hold a weapon or even the prototype Jetpack.

Gabriel-019 quickly cloaked and dropped to one knee as he noticed footsteps. They were coming closer. He didn't breath despite the sound of his helmet never escaping except when he willed for it - and he did not wan't any sound at all.

He noticed the maroon colour of the Elite, it was Zealot-Class. The Armor configuration matched. From the images he was shown by Halsey.

"Ewai, Drea nihtemos." The Elite stated simply and the Spartan squinted his eyes and slowly grinned. A formidable opponent... maybe.

He decloaked and charged the elite, time seemed to move slower for him. Adrenaline shot into his veins as he noticed how quickly the elite had moved also. The weapon was still activating but Spartan-019 sidestepped once and as he left the room, jumped and latched his hand onto the elites helmet and face, crushing both before flipping forwards. Slowly flying through the air in graceful movements. He liked the suit and... these augmentations.

The elite's neck snapped backwards and Spartan-019 heard the satysfying cracks. He still held onto the front of the elite's helmet and part of it's face. It yelped loudly and in the slow-time.

Once his flip rotation was complete, he let go of the elites corpse. The body simply slammed into the floor of the atrium infront of himself. The Spartan dropped to one knee as he made contact with solid ground once again, to soften his impact. Whilst the elite lay limp and lifeless, the hilt of the weapon still in it's hand and still activated. It appeared as a sword made of pure energy, held in place by magnetic projectors or something along that line.

The Spartan stared at the sword. Curiously. It was an elegant weapon, seemed almost holy to him.

His thoughts were abrupted as a weapon fired and he twisted his neck to see a large broken and smashed in window. There was a green blob flying at him, directly towards him and the dead elite-zealot.

Adrenaline worn out for now, Gabriel-019 left the scene in a hurry, simply by pushing his knees backwards and slamming onto his heavily armored back; Just in time from what he could tell. His shield flared wildly, his shields were now down to Eighty-five percent from that one explosion. Once the smoke cleared. The elite was gone. Corpse no longer existent and all that was left of that area was the melting metal floor and a piece of that damned sword, that appealed to the Spartan.

He looked at the window to the atrium and saw several fliers which he had come to know as banshees according to intel from Halsey, do a quick pass, they we're most likely going to do another run.

"Ghost... waiting for plan..." He stated and looked back at the Atrium window.

"Processing." Ghost said simply and paused for a moment.

"Hurry." Gabriel-019 demanded and continued to watch the window, three banshees were on hot approach.

"Hmm, it appears as though you are going to be eliminated by banshees, but since you're first objective was to highjack a Banshee, I'll suggest starting with these three." He stated flatly to Spartan-019 and the Spartan grunted.

Three green blobs of superheat started to fly towards him, he calculated the trajectories... covering the sides and the rear to a certain extent, one was aiming directly at him.

"Oh what a plan... brought a tear to my eye with it's brilliance." -019 said sarcastically and Ghost didn't respond.

"Ahh -blam!-." He stated flatly as the blobs came ever nearer - But so did the banshees.
