I don't really know why people think that. Reach's highs for both the game and the website were significantly above Halo 3.

As for your primary question - we'll just have to see what the future brings, won't we?

...Is this supposed to mean something. You of all people should know that that this means absolutely nothing. I rather look at other stats like player retainment.

Hell I consider Halo 2 the height of the series because a ridiculous like 90 some percent of xbl players played the game regularly when that game was out. I do forget the statistic exactly, but it was ungodly.

Either way there is no denying that Reach thus far has been a complete and utter failure. Hopefully next month's patch can turn the game around though.

^Your post/statement makes absolutley no snese, what-so-ever?

We are talking about the popularity of the website? NOT the games itself?

Yo Halo53, I'm real happy for you and I'ma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best bungie.net profiles of all time. OF ALL TIME!

Activity always cycles between games. It'll pick up again. It always does.

Considering 2/3 of Acky's post was NOT about the OP and more about a discrepancy he had with a "fact" I said. (Proven wrong, I know I was wrong.) This meaning that any response to Acky's post can very easily be about the popularity of any given Halo game in relation to Halo 3 or Halo: Reach and still be on topic.

Dianna Agron is the epitome of perfection.

Quinntology.

I want the Old Hawtness back along with the "Good Ol' Days" of Halo 2.

Ah, yes. When 90% of the BNet population was crammed into the Zanzibar forum...
Good times.

When Halo 3 came out, the forums were insane. When Reach came out, it was equally (if not more) the same. Personally, I believe that when more information and vidocs about Destiny release to the public, the forums will start increasing in activity even more.

^Just think of it this way?

Halo: Reach brought many NEW people to the Community.

Destny will bring even more people to the Community than Halo: Reach did!

So I'll ask again, do you think Bungie.net will ever be as popular as it used to be (or possibly even more so) and why?

hey crazzy, the thread is not quite derailed yet o_O
anyway, for my last opinion here i am gonna go out and say that i think the difference between "as popular as it used to be" Halo 3 and now Halo Reach is that Halo 3 brought us an insanely awesome feature with the game (theater), it was something new, extraordinary, people went nuts with it in sooo many ways, including Bungie (because they like playing their games) at the same time for those that knew how to appreciate the extras, managed to move on from the Halo 3 forum and ventured out into the community forum, the playlist forum, the gallery, and so on. The sad thing is, i think is that after most of us abbandonned the Halo 3 forum, because of it's... umm i don't know how to put it, silliness maybe, we didn't seem to return to the Halo Reach forum either, so the people that were here JUST for the game didn't get to see what the community and the Company is all about and are now following 343 or just staying in the Reach forum. The popularity is there, it's just what's popular that has changed.

No denying it?

That is your opinion and nothing more.

The majority of Gamers (myself included) actually thinks Reach is perfectly fine, with no more problems than any other game has. I like Reach the way it is, and I personally will not be touching the "Classic" MM playlists. I will keep playing it as it is now, with the set of playlists that we currently have, and the TU will allow for that.

You are entitled to your opinion, but you should also not pass it off as undeniable fact.

Well considering how populated the Crimson forums are already, I would say that we are just fine?

It's a bunch of spam that's mainly "IS THIS GONNA BE ON ANDROID" or "IS THIS GONNA BE ON IPHONE" or "WHAT IS THIS?!" it isn't real activity. And the most popular thread, yours, should be locked for being a nondiscussion thread and the equivalent of a "first" comment... Just my opinion.

^I agree with you.

My thread is a bit "spammy", but the Mod's probably gave me a break considering that it's the very first thread.

But Foman is probably the only Ninja there. So his kindness probably let it go.

This is a very interesting thread! Good job OP.

Now it's time for my opinion:
About the popularity... I don't know if it will ever be more popular than Halo but I know as a FACT that it will be an more amazing game than Halo ever was. H2, H3, Hodst, Hreach aren't really true sequels IMO... They're all improvements of Halo CE just like Call of Duty or Battlefield. Halo CE was a revolution for the stereotype FPS genre (Wolfenstein, Doom, Goldeneye, Halo CE, Cod 4)

I believe that Bungie is creating a new revolution for the industry right now (they better are cuz I'm getting bored with the same old crap from EA, Ubisoft and activision) and that they are taking the time to do it right as an independent studio without Microsoft pushing for more Halo games.

Good quality games aren't necessarily popular Mass Effect 2 (GOTY according to IGN) had disappointing sales according to EA while COD Black Ops (8.5 according to IGN) is a top seller.

To sum it up: I have no idea about the popularity but I have a good feeling about it(what can possibly go wrong when you have activision as a publisher???) But I'm sure that Bungie's next IP will be high quality AND GOTY 20.. !!!

No doubt there will be more Reach-tards in a reincarnated version.

Mythical Group

There is no greater catharsis than arguing on the Flood.

When Reach hit it was as popular as ever. If Destiny makes people excited, which it should, I expect an even bigger reaction. Especially with the possibility of reeling in PS3 players.

I'm a stubborn guy. I love to argue my opinion, but unlike others, I'll try to see your side of the problem. I'm a triathlete, with a very heavy empephis on the swimming bit. Also, don't hate on the ~Quinton~ at the end of my posts. Why are you still reading this? #creeper #hashtagcashmoney for hashtaging on Bungie.net

Yes, just as soon as Bungie announces something new and when that new title is released it be alive as it was before, I have to admit though there is definitely a lot less usage within the forums, there are a handful of users that are on here a lot rather than loads of different users

I feel like all the people who where just here for Halo left and all the people who are fans of Bungie stayed. Less users but you see the same users more frequently.

Agreed. The community forum feels more like a tight knit... well... community, now. I'm getting to know people and how they think about things and stuff and junk and what not and things.

"Nothing in the 'Verse can stop me."

Bungie is one of the most well known gaming companies because of Halo. I do not get the logic of the OP.

I prefer the forums how they are now, I will be sad when Bungie releases news for the new IP because a bunch of new people(including PSN people who I hope are nice) here talking, clogging up the forums with there gibberish and nonsense. But I guess that is how I started. Finally started posting with the release of ODST on Runnerboy then switched to this account.

But here is to the newcomers bringing new minds to the forums and may they follow in our footsteps.

Yes, when their new game comes out, it's just like every game in the past. Things slow down a little when there is no news, then as soon as they tell the world about something, or post something interesting everybody starts to come back!

(I chose H:3 over the height of Reach because 3 was MUCH more popular).
