@Geegs30

It will be more popular than it's ever been once Bungie releases their new IP. The site will look completely different, we will have so many more tools at our disposal, and Stosh will still hate toast.

Good things are yet to come.

Mourne not your comrades who must dwell / too strong to strive -
Within each steel-bound coffin of a cell, / Buried alive;
But rather mourne the apathetic throng / The cowed, and the meek -
Who see the world’s great anguish and its wrong / And dare not speak.

Teachable moment: Common forum etiquette includes not bumping two-month-old threads to simply say that you have nothing to add.

Well I've seen a lot of popular community forums on many sites slow down. It's just what happens. But when they come out with a new Halo, I hope they do, I haven't heard of Halo Reach as being the Last halo out there, but I'm sure it will pick back up. I mean, my first post on the forums got a reply in about 2 minutes, I think that still says something about people being on this website. Not only that but this has been out of a lil while, I would think that a lot of threads have been made and you don't want to sit there and make the same thread that someone else has made.

Cry Havoc And Let Slip The Dogs Of War.

There is nothing wrong with it now either OP. Yes it can be a little slow at times. Everything has highs and lows, B.net will always be great.

With Bungie expanding to the PS3. There's bound to be more users.

I would think so, I guess we will have to wait and see.

Hello! I'm Bunie.net's resident medical student (hell i'm sure there are more but I'm the only one who openly declares it!) I love my emblem, and I am periodically active.
I have a Twitter

No, well, it depends if the new IP is as popular as Halo was. But does it matter, i think i prefer the community as it is.

I dunno, but after talking with a couple of Bungie folks at PAX, they are VERY excited about their new project. I couldn't pry any specifics out of anybody (I knew from experience I wouldn't be able to, so I didn't try very hard), but if the new project goes as well as they're hoping, we may see a greater population on this site than ever before :-D

Even with all your silver-tongued smooth soothsaying you could get nothing?

Lies.

  • 10.19.2011 11:10 AM PDT

You're either dead or judged.

I pledge my loyalty to Bungie, and though my standards have risen for them, I believe in them all the same. Whether it gets popular or not is not so important to me. I prefer smaller communities, though I know that selling a game well is probably nice. as new waves of youngsters approach the community.

So popularity is good, and bad. it would be mean that the new IP is well done, but also attract those who would fill space for the sake of annoying the community.

  • 10.19.2011 11:12 AM PDT

When you start to get ____, stop being ____ and be awesome instead.

I still recruit people to Bungie.net on a daily basis, and I'm sure that others do the same. Bungie.net is a well-crafted forum with incredible potential, so there really isn't a good reason for it to downfall with Bungie's passing of the Halo Franchise.

Think of the activity as predator prey cycles. More prey, more predators. Less prey less predators. Think of the information Bungie gives us as the prey.

Think of the activity as predator prey cycles. More prey, more predators. Less prey less predators. Think of the information Bungie gives us as the prey.
But what I'm thinking is, if the prey supply runs out (halo no longer bein made) and a new prey to the environment is introduced (their new IP), will that prey both be tastier and reproduce faster (be a better game), leading to an influx of predators greater than the efflux of predators making the number of predators reach new heights? If that makes sense analogically...

im not going to lie to you, when halo 4 comes out i will probably play it alot but not as much as reach or halo 3. bungie created the halo universe and it should have stayed that way but i will never stop playing bungie games so long as i still have an xbox so that means that i will always be on bungie.net and im sure there is other people out there who feel the same so dont worry bungie. there will always be fans.

Does it really matter, I like Bnet because I like Bungie, Halo, and the community. I don't care why others choose to come and go, as long as they don't kick me off this site.

Well according to this site Bnet is at an all time low for hits during the last 4 years. Back in 2007 around the release of Halo 3 was by far the most hits this website got. Over a million in one day.

Eh, I kinda wish it would go back to the popularity it had when Halo 3 was out. Hopefully things will pick up when they release their new IP

I am guessing Bungie.net reached it's height last year, and now will slowly decline until their next project.

Although I am skeptical about whether it can have as big of an effect as Halo did in the video game and science fiction world.

Unless their game is a modern military shooter, something I am very interested in...

  • 10.19.2011 3:49 PM PDT

Hey, now!

This is officially either the greatest or worst thing to ever happen to Star Wars. I'm going with the former.

Bungie.net members are easily bored, but they'll come back. And in greater numbers, too.

It's hard to tell me as a daily poster that this site is not popular. It's the same as it was, just less to talk about right now. Will it get the 1 million daily like it did before? Who cares! It's hard to meet the hype that Halo 3 received but I think we will all be surprised one way or the other.
