When your skill wasn't showed by a symbol next to your name, but by who could go the longest without screenlooking?

When you had to be able to use all the weapons to win?

When armour abilities were just cool mods that only a few people could use?

When you could use the pistols and ARs withought hearing noob in your ear?

When you could beat the -blam!- out of campers in real life?

I feel that the new generation of online gamers in ruining what it means to be a gamers. It used to be about getting together with a few of your friends, making popcorn, and screaming at each other 'till the sun came up.

The new generation of gamers seems to be defined by anti-social pricks who obssess over meaningless titles and pointless benchmarks. As well as complaining, lots of that.

Games are supposed to be fun ways to escape reality for a few hours, mabey more. Where have those values gone? I ask you.

It's not camping, it's holding the designated location.

Agreed. My friend and I occasionally still play 1v1 split screen, I want those days back. :(

I agree, but unfortunitly (I'm bad at spelling) I belong to the newer geneneration, (that doesn't mean that I'm the average BK, though)I LOVED playing Halo CE once I understood the storyline, and I am looking forward to the anniversaries campaign.

SC = Supreme Commander/Supreme Canadian.

De Facto leader of the military of the APE (Allied Planets Empire).

Coup = Admiral Asskicker, ZPM hive ship

Indeed. I'm actually thinking about releasing a virus that will shut down XBL altogether. That will stop those pitiful excuses for gamers... back to the original days of LAN, not massive connectivity via the internet!

Never step into a fight without a knife.

OP, your speech was simply amazing. I couldn't have said it better myself. Excellent choice of words. And I agree with you so much. The thing is, that hasn't stopped with me. I have all the Halo games that have been released so far and I play ALL of them. Just yesterday I was playing CE Multiplayer with two of my buddies, trash talking and having fun. Remember OP. Just because this new generation is unlike ours, that does not mean we will be the same. Honestly I felt so angry when they shut down Halo 2's servers. It was such a wonderful online experience. So FUN. The thing with me is, I love ALL of the Halo games. Whether it's RTS, Credit System or TrueSkill, these games will always be the same to me: HALO games. It is remarkable how a series of both video games and books live on until this day. Amazing story. Amazing gameplay. Amazing ideas.

Long live Halo.
