Love it or hate it, Halo 2 is coming exclusively to Windows Vista. The question is, are you getting it? Or are you still hung up on the whole "M$ is just trying 2 sell Vista OMGz" thing? (And for the record, I'd rather this not degrade into a full blown flamefest over that, the issue has been adressed already.)

Actually, I was planning to get a brand new high-end gaming laptop for my birthday this summer, and I'm thinking about holding off until Vista would come out next year. But then again, it shouldn't be too much hassle if I get a comp that meets or exceeds the minimum system requirements for Vista and then upgrade when it comes out.

well if your not building it yourself, id hold off, cause if buy from someone like dell or alienware, they include the operating system in the price instead of you going out and shelling out $300 for the new os after the fact, on the other hand if your building it urself, you already had to buy the os so its ok if u get it and wait for the upgrade

I may be cautiously optomistic, but that would really be option 4. (I hope.)

My computer isn't technically mine for two years so legally we can't.

The reason for this is because mum got it through work on special offer so she rents it for two years at £20 a month and then at the end pays £50 and only then can we do anything to it software wise.

NHS deal? yeah, we've got something similar on the shared PC; this one's all mine and is more than capable of running vista (it's a full blown 64bit system with 2gb of ram), so i fully intend to get it. The shared one will be ours by then aswell, so i'll put it on that aswell.

i've had a chance to use vista, and i have to say it is purely amazing. it was kind of annoying because they didnt have sound drivers for my audigy 2 or my logitech mouse & keyboard, but with the onboard sound i got to use wmp 11 and ie 7 and the new file system. just wait, you'll get vista because of vista, not because of a video game

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

I'm getting Vista as soon as it comes out.(or shortly thereafter)
Hopefully, I can get it in November through college, but I doubt it.

Wow, that's probably the best honest-to-god endorsement I've heard yet. I'm suddenly very excited for this thing.

I'm psyched for Vista. I really, really am. It might actually renew my faith in Windows (for a while :P).
