Further-more, I just want to say sorry to you guys for my mis-understanding of my "ban" and am sorry for all of the confusion.

Wake me, when you need me.

That's usually what I do. And sorry about the douche bag, douche-bagging you while you're learning how to drive. I was usually the same way in school. If I saw a new kid, I introduced my self and asked him if he'd like a detailed tour of the school. No one else wanted to help him because he's the "new kid", so I stepped up to the plate.

While out driving (i'm a learner) the other week, a car got right up my backside, started beeping its horn and flashing its lights, getting me so riled up that i stalled, at which point he flicked me off and sped off, leaving me a shuddering wreck. My instructor shouted after him "You where a learner once you know!".

This is an idea that is regularly being forgotten by some (some) more established members of the community. Instead of simply saying "Wrong forum" or something as unhelpful, or even insulting the poster for there sometimes obviously pointless thread, a more guiding approach should be taking, perhaps link them to the correct forum, or say just why their thread is so pointless.

i agree with you all the time people will say wrong forum and it's like ok...thanks what forum am i suppose to go on!! you didn't tell me that!!

That's funny. Whenever I see a confused new member, I point in the direction of the nearest cliff.

It's actually quite easy to tell, you'll know when someone is here because they like Halo/Bungie and want to be apart of the community or jump right into the Flood and start posting rather obvious threads.

Member date aside you should still help - and if someone is trolling people to be told where to post, then they're a rather sad individual but there's no negative consequences to your efforts.

Because someone has a recent account creation date? So can alts.
This could in fact be one of my alternate accounts. See - hard to tell apart. There is no way of telling the difference.

"We live in a special time; the only time where we can observationally verify that we live in a very special time" - Lawrence Krauss.

I was a finalist :P

I always help, because with a large community like this, mistaken posts and threads are bound to happen and giving someone assistance when they do need it make, well me anyway, feel good about myself.

'Do unto others, as you would have them unto you'

Also, using the analogy of learner drivers is silly. There is no leeway for any driver in Australia, especially learners and provisional drivers, your pulled over for speeding, drink driving, or having too many passengers in your vehicle, then you can say goodbye to your license for a very long time- no exceptions what so ever. The obvious reason for this is that people are in danger of those events happening.

These forums and real life situations are completely different concepts and cannot be accurately compared.

I think that we all here can agree when somebody posts in the wrong forums, we sometimes all tend to come out as an ass for it?

  • 08.30.2011 4:41 PM PDT

@accordingto343

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

I assume they've read the rules, as they should.
