Of course I'm referring to the transfer of the Halo IP to 343i. Do they feel Halo is in good hands? Are they the least bit sad to see their baby go? Or do they just completely disregaurd Halo because they or moving on to 'better' things?

I'm jusr super curious. I mean, they've created such an amazing and successful franchise and how does Bungie know there next project will be such a hit?

It's probably bitter sweet. They don't want to let Halo go, but at the same time they're relived because it allows them to start a new IP.

"I don't care if it's God's own anti-Son of a -blam!- Machine or a giant hula-hoop!"

It's similar to a mom seeing her 'baby' leave, to go to college.
Sure she is said, but what did she expect, for her child to stay with her forever?

Giving up Halo was the price to their freedom. They are sad to let their baby go, but they know that it is in good hands and will be supported by an awesome community.

And it was the only way to leave Microsoft.

That was a terrible analogy.

So, ideally, if Bungie never sided with Microsoft, they would still be working on Halo?

No.

If Bungie had never sided with Microsoft, Bungie would have been bankrupt and out of business.

It's all in the ViDoc.

;)

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

Of course it was an extremely hard decision to make and probably took a lot of getting used to but it's all for the best, right? Bungie felt they needed to take a step in a new direction.

Did you watch the newest vidoc? They covered that subject with a fair amount of detail.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

'Exchange of hats'? I thought you were talking about Valve's TF2.

Worm, they have made their feelings exceedingly clear on this matter. Read up and all will be revealed.

It would be like a mom giving her 'baby' to another mom after raising him for so many years, making him what he is today. Directly after giving her baby up the new mom already has new plans for him and wants to change him to a better person.

Assuming they wasn't then they probably would have stopped at Halo 3, like they stopped making marathon games at marathon infinity, although there are many factors that imply that the Halo games wouldn't have been as popular. I mean, the Halos would have a far smaller budget, they would have had enough time to finish Halo 2 properly and all the glitches and whatnot would be missing so a lot of the players would no longer have that as their fan favourite.
(I mean, just look at all the superbouncing clans there once was.)

So that means the game would be less popular, it'd no longer be "the best original Xbox game", it would just be another game, then the game would probably be multi-platform which would bring in far more players but have a far less unified community, because of all the "Mac Vs PC", "Xbox Vs PS3", etc threads, which would disallow the community from making great things because of these differences and disputes. I mean imagine if everyone from every machinima had a choice between four platforms to get the game on, do you think that everyone who participated in the video would buy the exact same platform? And in the scenario that they did, or if they got multi-platform, would they have met up with the filmer/writer?

I suppose predicting how popular Halo would be in a alternate reality based off certain conditions is difficult, maybe it'd be better off, or maybe Bungie would just be another company, not the makers of the legendary franchise that is "Halo".
