No, don't call me a hero. Do you know who the real heroes are? The guys, who wake up every morning, and go into their normal jobs, and get a distress call from the commissioner, and take off their glasses and change into capes and fly around fighting crime. Those are the real heroes.

I have no doubt that they do.

I'm a pillar of the community.

EDIT: This is not the best thread to be discussing this though. :-/ I'm sensing Ninjas in the bushes waiting to pounce.

They have contests to see who can ban the most people within 24 hours.

On a serious note, there have been some instances where they've banned each other/themselves.

I doubt it, it just seems like an extremely lame thing to do and I'm giving the mods a bit more credit than that.

I have however considered the possibility that they've, on occassion, put on their try-hards pants and focused extra on certain groups. Perhaps it's just coincidence.

Sure, probably human nature. I've seen a ninja admit to banning someone just because he didn't like the user in a private group and Yoozel has been drunk banning people for years with no repercussions.

Our moderating team isn't nearly as objective as they'd like us all to think.

This thread makes me feel a lot more uncomfortable about posting.

I would really hope not.

Moderator only bans other moderator for fun and games.

Then if they are topping to compete against Yoozel or the webmaster, then maybe yes. They would ban a member by mistake. Poor Achronos isn't invited to the drunk game party <_<

Sometimes when we do video conferencing with the Boss he will get the spiny wheel out and it'll pick a forum. We have 15 seconds to ban as many people as we can. It's called "team building exercises" and gotta stay on top of our toes...

Hello! I'm Bunie.net's resident medical student (hell i'm sure there are more but I'm the only one who openly declares it!) I love my emblem, and I am periodically active.
I have a Twitter

Probably, if only for a joke. I'm sure Shiska banned someone for the laughs and giggles.

Foman does.

Actually, he might not get satisfaction from it any more, I think it's just a habit. Either way he bans for no reason.

Even if in a bad mood, they don't have the right to do that, if the member didn't do anything wrong. That would be over using their moderation powers/privileges.

Halo 2 for Life!

no they are just marketers, sort of like guard bees for the queen bees beehive.

they don't care about intentions or if it's right or correct. if it's against the beehive or isn't what they want to talk about they warn or ban.

see the rules are so vague almost anything could be considered anything.

so basically they are allowed to basically ban or warn for anything they see as anti beehive (including talk that is very on topic and interesting but isn't what they want plastered on there marketing tool, which are there forums).

so sometimes it can be seen that they are banning basically for no understandable reason but they are just being marketers (trying to sell their products through their forums).

aside:

if you want to go a bit further, fans are the flowers in which the worker bees (stores) collect nectar from.
