Mircrosofts reasoning behind shutting down halo 2 multiplayer is becuase it was losing more money then it was gaining.

So heres the solution we pay to play. I'm talking like some sort of xboxlive type thng or something. You pay 5 dollars for a month or somthing like that.

Now would you pay to play halo 2 multiplayer

Halo 2 for Life!

how were they losing money, if anything halo 2 was helping it's other titles make money by keeping halo fans happy with a diverse gaming experience through all of it's titles. to bad halo 3 and halo reach were just plain different in a bad way but some might enjoy it's unrealistic and annoying gameplay.

I recall playing halo 2 and talking about other halo's, therefore adding to the halo brand instead of them playing cod or gears were those brands took over from halo 2. that's why halo is in a tail spin and why other franchises are doing real well.

Nope. I already paid for the game, the console, and xbox live. Im not wasting even more on trying to play online.

halo 2 still the best game in the series. long live halo 2.

Dam, I miss the old days playing halo 2 with my old brothers in arms. Thank you my old friends for giving me this account, I shall continue our legacy.

Eh I wouldn't pay. I'm content with playing Halo 2 via xlink kai and on the PC, that and I'm broke thanks to paying out of pocket for college.

$5/month. Are you kidding me? Paying $60/year for an outdated game is ridiculous.

Halo 2 for Life!

you've never played halo 2 online... how could one even claim that is to much money when they never played it online.

"I'll tell you right now, if you ever see someone called ll wa1do ll... leave the game immediately. My friend knows him, I've been in his party a few times, do not mess with this guy. From what I've heard, he's the real deal. I also heard someone made a guy named Wa2do (similar to his name) and then he hacked that guy and boosted off his level." -From Minou on Bungie.net

I loved Halo 2. I played it pretty regularly even after Halo 3 was out, which I was in no way disappointed with I might add. But let's be honest here, original Xbox LIVE was not earning MS any money.

Towards the end of it's life, there were rarely even 1000 players online in Halo 2, and Halo 2 had the biggest population of all Xbox originals by far. Halo 2 was no longer the driving force behind Xbox and Xbox LIVE. Nobody was buying a 360 to play it, and MS had already stopped production for copies of the game. So it wasn't helping them sell any more consoles, and they weren't making any money on selling the game itself.

I refused to play Halo 3 for roughly 3 years because I thought Halo 2 was waaay better. It wasn't until the servers were shut down that I bought a 360.

Halo 2 for Life!

every situation is different but overall I think the halo community would have enjoyed having halo 2 still online and a happy community is one that will pay money for new titles.

Do you like Yax? I do.

I wouldn't pay a monthly fee for Halo 2 online, but I would pay a one time fee to be able to play original xbox games on Live.

As much as I love Halo 2 I don't think it would have enough players at $5 a month unless H2 multiplayer turned into a free download with a month trial. Then I see it lasting possibly 2 months with a high player count. So I would pay $5 for 2 months and probably never play again.

i would pay for 3 years, get the remake (so long as the skulls are the same) and only occasionally look back
