I'm thinking about getting the ATI X800 Mac Edition, partly for better Halo performance and partly because I'm thinking of getting a bigger monitor or adding a second one. Most programs I use have so many pallets that there's no room left to work.

If anyone has used this card and can give it a thumbs up or down, I'd like to hear from you.

How do you play halo on the FX5200? I definitely recommend the X800, I have an iMac intel core duo (see system specs below) and it runs Halo really well under Rosetta at 1680x1050 and it runs really well! Anyway you should definitely do it, you will see at least 60 fps.

You will probably see 60 fps at MAX. Mac's arent made for gaming and really are nothing great. I'd save for the 7800GTX if i were you.

I've got an older G5 Power Mac and the 7800GTX will not work in it, or so I'm told. I was told that the ATI X800 is the most advanced card that will work in the machine I have.

The FX 5200 actually plays pretty well. I get between 52-56 fps depending on how I have my video settings set. I don't max everything out, but I'm not running minimum settings either. But I'd like to max it and not suffer.

It's good to know that Halo plays under Rosetta.
