Tell What You Like Best About All Halos

Do you know what kind of hat I'm wearing?

A party hat; you don't get one. An honor will this party be, a party in your honor, for your honor. Some of Tfear's personal guards are going to be there. You'll be introduced shortly.

Prepare to die.

Forky.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

:)
The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

I love the aspect that Halo is realistic in it's own way. It's not the typical science fiction story with lasers and flying cars and all that.

Halo's universe is something you can relate too, and somewhere you could actually see humanity in 500 years.

Don't be stupid like I was! Check to see what that Forum Ninja is saying to you!

"I may not like what you say, but I will defend your right to the death to say it!"

"Tolerance is a virtue, and virtue builds character."

It's attention to detail and atmosphere. I never would have been able to describe what it's like to be left on a dying planet with no way off until Halo Reach.

"On the seventh day, god did not rest, but rather he created 64 player multiplayer!"

The music...the dialogue that comes from the Marines... What sucks though, is that the funny stuff really got toned down in Halo 3...and even MORE toned down in Reach. Halo CE was the best for that, where you'd get a Pelican dropping off marines for you and they'd all be amazed to see you (a Spartan) and make funny comments... 'Whoa! It's the mach 5!'

I am Field Master Avu Med 'Telcam, Servant of the Abiding Truth, and I have many brothers.

A god who creates tools is still a god. It is not for us to impose qualifications upon the divine or presume to guess its intentions.

Elites.

Obviously.

You know, I'm not sure now, haha... I always assumed they were referring to the Chief as if he was a fancy car :P (i.e. the Mach 5 from Speed Racer) hehe. Maybe they WERE actually saying "Mark 5..." referring to his suit...

"I'm afraid of the man I'll become if I lay my life down for the people I don't even care for"

The variety of the Universe. It can be the boots in the mud gritty Sci-fi we all know and love with the Human-Covenant war.

Or it can be this mysterious Universe that nobody can quite wrap their head around. The power of the forerunners or the mystery and grandeur of the Precursors. The Origin of the Flood etc.

I'm not a particularly a fan of the forklift. But I do like making fork noises.

Brefastlunchandinnah.

The fact that it is still like today, just with water for gas and space travel. Oh, and there were a couple aliens invading a couple planets and trying to destry sentient life as we know it.

Swag punks, fuck off!

The campaighns.

My favorite part of the Halos is the depth of the campaign they really made you feel for the team and feel like your part of a team and not just a solo fighter defending the earth. ALl in all the campaign is my favorite part.

I liked how Halo 3 showed how the SPARTAN II Commandos gave the other servicemen and women a morale boost. I think that was the opening cutscene on 'Crows Nest'.

  • 09.01.2011 11:25 AM PDT

I liked the whole 'in space' thing where there are the wierd creatures. Just a cool concept to base a series of games off, and I think they really nailed it with Halo, I always loved the look of the elites.

  • 09.01.2011 11:48 AM PDT

It didn't follow a predictable formula of story. There were twists and turns around every corner. The Flood in Halo: CE being my prime example of these twists.

  • 09.01.2011 11:54 AM PDT

The sense of wonder when walking in the gigantic environments of Halo CE, like the enormous snow canyon in Assault on the Control Room, or the huge pit in the underground complex in Silent Cartographer.

Just walking slowly into an area, with very few or no enemies around and seeing the amazing scale of it all gave me a feeling that no other game to date has been able to replicate. I hope that Anniversary will come at least close to that.

There is, of course, the obvious fun of fighting against relatively smart yet somewhat human opponents. The combination of intelligence and emotion in enemy (and teammate) behavior is what makes combat scenarios in Halo campaigns unique for me. Sadly, Reach somehow failed to replicate this. After playing the old campaigns again recently it feels as if the AI is actually smarter than in Reach.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

The vast universe and story depth.

  • 09.01.2011 12:08 PM PDT

Death to rank junkies.

I like how deep the story is. (not counting Reach) Everything has a backstory.
