The sense of wonder when walking in the gigantic environments of Halo CE, like the enormous snow canyon in Assault on the Control Room, or the huge pit in the underground complex in Silent Cartographer.

Just walking slowly into an area, with very few or no enemies around and seeing the amazing scale of it all gave me a feeling that no other game to date has been able to replicate. I hope that Anniversary will come at least close to that.

There is, of course, the obvious fun of fighting against relatively smart yet somewhat human opponents. The combination of intelligence and emotion in enemy (and teammate) behavior is what makes combat scenarios in Halo campaigns unique for me. Sadly, Reach somehow failed to replicate this. After playing the old campaigns again recently it feels as if the AI is actually smarter than in Reach.

Yea I know, not too mention they were smarter with vehicles.

I really like the in-depth universe of the Forerunners and The Flood. Also I love the Sangheili and all the campaigns.

I love the aspect that Halo is realistic in it's own way. It's not the typical science fiction story with lasers and flying cars and all that.

Halo's universe is something you can relate too, and somewhere you could actually see humanity in 500 years.
I agree and disagree. Humanity in some aspects are a bit primitive. It's 500 years after all, SO MUCH can happen.
