Halsey being one is pretty evident. There's no need for hints

"but you already knew that, I mean, how couldn't you?

Only when no Human brick is left atop another, shall we be satisfied with your destruction.

Halsey's political affiliation isn't known, she seems to support the UNSC emergency millitary government, but that isn't a good indication of her political beliefs.

Science isn't related to a certain historical German political movement either, they just ignored ethics because experimenting on live people was considered fine as they were "subhuman". A truely disgusting idea, but that was their justification.

The Norse code-names are just codenames, the modern USA uses primarily acronyms and greek mythological references, the modern UK uses historical references as well. The UNSC likes norse mythology for their codenames.

It's true that the -blam!-s had brilliant scientists willing to cross ethical boundaries in their experiments, but it seems far-fetched to draw a connection between them and Dr. Halsey simply over code names.

One could argue her research/experimenting was necessary as the risk of the Spartan and Mjolnir failing could create a highly destructive civil war while the -blam!-s research wasn't that "important" at the time. Halsey was doing it for not only the good of the UNSC but for the civilians that could be caught in the crossfire. The rebels I think set off a nuke that killed a million civies or something. That is what caused her to go through with the Spartan and Mjolnir projects. To save lives.

*faceFloodForm* WTF?!? What is this...I don't even -.-

How about a hell no? Were you high when you posted this or something? Halo has absolutely nothing at all to do with the National Socialists and their government in Germany during World War II! And where did you get the idea that they borrowed themes or whatever from Norse myth?!?! If you're going to make outrageous claims such as that then at least try to provide proof for them, and I'm not talking about your claim that Bungie is saying Halsey is a National Socialist.

What does blam mean in this case? I feel so stupid.

@accordingto343

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

What a surprise, Bronx is confus.

He's referring to the National Socialists in post-WWI Germany to end of WWII, otherwise known as the NSDAP.

"Where ere thou hast been, here or in yon world manifest? Canst thou tell what is, or what was, or what is to come? No thing shall last. Yet there are some things that will never change. History is written in blood, yet are battles really lost on the battlefield? Canst thou tell me where thou comest, and where thou goest, and what is, or what was, or what will be? For everything remains, AS IT NEVER WAS."

... I hate the naught-zies so much... The schwa-sticka? Yeah, that was a rune for the lightning coming off Mjollnir. The symbol that the SS used? Another Nordic rune, ironically for peace - among other things.

They have ruined that culture!

Dr. Halsey is not a naught-zie for taking inspiration from the Nordic myths, just as every practitioner of Asatru (modern Nordic paganism,) is not a naught-zie.

Me? I am mad, but at the naught-zie's "rayp" of my ancestors culture. Even Mjollnir is tied to naught-zieism. And now, when there are references made to that culture in modern culture, the first thing that apparently springs to mind is naught-zies... It's a little angering (well, more than a little,) but not directed at anyone here. More my culture hanging by threads.

When I first saw that we were wearing MJOLNIR armor in Halo, I was ecstatic. To wear the mighty hammer of Thor! And when I saw that the Spartan Laser - which rarely misses - took it's name from Gungnir, the spear of Odin, I felt much the same.

I can only hope that more people take the Nordic culture from the references, not the thieves who stole and defiled it.
