It's not my job to explain why you have no argument. If you can't figure it out for yourself then you're past my help. The POINT of the OP is in your opinion who is better. I say Master Chief and it's not even a contest. I was introduced to the Halo universe through Halo CE. I hate to break it to you, but being introduced to Halo through the video game is how most everyone was introduced to Halo. There is nothing wrong with getting involved with the Halo books and fan fiction and all that stuff but it doesn't mean it will make its way into the games or be accurately represented and odds are it won't be. You seem to have a crippling lack of a sense of humor and you self mandated Halo canon trolling is annoying. I wish you luck in all your endeavors.

All you had to say was "I have no counter to your arguments." Would've saved you some trouble.

How about this, your argument is invalid for so many reasons that it is an exercise in futility to list all the ways you are wrong. This is further reinforced by the fact that even if I were to spell it out for you I doubt you would be able or willing to understand the argument and have an intelligent response.

Still a rather long-winded way to say "I've got nothing" on your part man.

Now back OT: You guys do remember how Kurt, a Spartan-II, said the augmentations for the S-IIIs were quantum leaps above what he got as far as augmentations go. SO that argument is ruled out.

You're right. I'll dumb it down for you. You're wrong.

You say you have a huge laundry list of reasons about how I'm wrong yet refuse to post it. I can wait for it, if it even exists.

Master Chief. Easily. If you want to see a longer fight, picture Master Chief and Tex fighting the entire UNSC Army.

This post has been put up so many times it's not even funny anymore, but if u want my opinion it's obvious master chief because he survived (and surviving) all 4 main halo titles, noble team didn't even make it through 4 missions in reach.

So, in your mind. (note this does not relate to Spartans in question)

The coward who flees from every battle would easily win against the squad who stood their ground and died?

No I'm not saying that at all but if they were better Spartans (Jorge and carter make the exeption because he had to) they would have lived at least longer in the entire game and chief always escaped in the halo games at the very end because everything was blowing up around him of the endings of the games. And if he "stood his ground and died" the covenant would have won and there would be no more halo games past CE

On a semi-related note why the hell do people think jorge is so badass cause he blew something up? he was a Spartan II yet all I saw him use that amazing spartan II strength for was holding a gigantic machine gun that was about as effective as an assualt rifle, and throwing noble six out a window.

If Chief was in the situations Noble Team was, he would have died. Unless you plot-shielded him stupidly.

I agree and i wouldve obeyed him...
Unlike most of gaming hero's chief is not dead he has been in the most dangerous situations EVER...he has defeated an infection that destroyed millions of millions of galaxies chief uses both his strenth and intellegence...
If noble was in his situations they would spawn-die...you understand me.

...you are a complete retard. GG bro.

Because he didn't die, he's automatically better...Noble Team was fighting a losing battle from the very start, Jorge willingly died thinking he was saving Reach. Kat died from an ambush, not a straight fight. Carter sacrificed himself for the team. Jun escorted Halsey from Sword Base, and Emile would have survived if he wasn't so arrogant and noticed his motion tracker go off.

Chief is good, but don't dismiss Noble Team because most of them gave their lives entirely willing to do such for the sake of humanity and Reach. If Six did survive, where was he going to be in the first three Halo's? We knew none of them were going to make it.

Noble Team is a TEAM, and I'm sure if all six came at John, including someone on the SAME LEVEL AS HIM, not even his luck would save him. You are, however, entitled to your own opinion. Just consider how many lives were willingly given on Reach. John never had to give his life for anything, he fought for survival because he had the option to fight for his survival and not give his life up.

Yeah, so? Six made militias and terrorist organizations disappear as well as the members of Alpha Company (Insurrection at New Mamore and the Bonansa Asteroid field)

  • 10.17.2011 6:26 PM PDT

Hey there guys and gals! My friend and I are making a new halo reach series on youtube and we need you guys (yes and I'm talking YOU) to help out: 3 girls and 16 guys (or the other way around if you prefer it)!!!! Y U NO JOIN ME!? ლ(ಠ益ಠ)ლ

We all know by far its Master chief

  • 10.17.2011 6:32 PM PDT

of course its mc he's the best of the best we all know that!

  • 10.17.2011 6:47 PM PDT

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

Only if you apply the plotshield, or else he would drop like a fly against Noble Team and you all know it.

  • 10.17.2011 7:08 PM PDT

In my opinion Master Chief is better than anyone on Noble Team in a 1 vs 1. Master Chief is vastly more experienced then any S-III and if I can remember correctly it is mentioned that he participated in more military engagements then any other S-II.

Noble Six may be hyper-lethal but I have no clue how people think he has a kill count even close to the Chief. And even if he did his missions seemed mostly to be taking out Insurrectionists and being Ackerson's grim reaper, giving me the impression his fights really were not on the level of the S-IIs or even the headhunters.

Because gameplay AI totally describes how the characters truly act right? Wrong.

See, the problem with people saying gameplay doesn't count is that we then have only cutscenes and scripted event to judge entire characters from. This presents a problem not only with Noble, but with every character you've ever played as or with. Suddenly every action performed outside of cutscenes didn't really happen. So unless you want to severely reduce the canon, gameplay does count.

Events are canon, but gameplay elements are not. Such as in one room you might face a single elite minor on easy, but 5 zealots in legendary.

Likewise, saying all marines are absolutely -blam!- drivers because their AI is less then stellar, Jun's a retarded sniper who can't hit a cruiser parked infront of him, and Emile shotgun snipes all the time is foolish.

Hence, "gameplay AI". When somebody says "gameplay doesn't count.", I believe it usually means "You cannot state for a fact Chief fought 5 elite zealots in the room due to the fact it changes on difficulty."

I would just like to bring up how there are some pieces of gameplay that do seem to be canon, such as how Noble Six runs slower and jumps lower than the Chief.

In all honesty Noble Team did not impress me as much as the S-III in Ghosts of Onyx, in particular Tom and Lucy, who I would put on the same level with Blue Team in their younger years.

Noble Six is faster than Chief in Halo CE, and can actually bump a vehicle or fall more than two meters without dying unlike Chief in CE.

The only reason that John is faster than Six in 2 and 3 is because of the Mark VI armor that he gets, and even then, it's not much of a difference.

  • 10.17.2011 10:03 PM PDT

I would say it has more to do with the difference in height. If you notice your field of vision is the same in both games but you are larger as the Chief. Thought I can't remember if the Rookie seems to move at the same pace.

I also would like to point out what people said earlier in the thread about the armor. Noble Six is in a modified Mk V while the Chief has run of mill Mk V in Halo CE which could account for the difference in damage.
