Who the hell do you think I am?

So every time I play a game and it finishes, it connects to a new game, but while in the connecting screen, my game freezes! This has happened 2 times already, (i've played 3 games online) and I have to force shut down my computer. I tired esc but it doesnt work. Does anyone know how I can escape CE with turning of my computer, or how to make it stop freezing all together?

Get a computer that doesn't suck.

I would recomend ATLEAST a duel core processor and 2 GB of ram.

Ok I just played campaign and that wont work either. I actually have 3 GB of RAM. I think the only thing restricting me from playing games is my crapping integrated video card. Right? I don't think I can replace it either. Besides buying a new computer, what should I do?

You can get a new graphics card. You're running on a desktop, right?

No, a laptop.

Unless it's a very expensive laptop that allows you to, then no, you can't really replace it, at least, i wouldn't recommend it. Laptops aren't really suitable for gaming, you could easily get a cheap PC for around £200 (cheaper in the States) that could run most games out there with varying quality.

At this stage in things, it doesn't even matter if he's using a laptop or not. All modern integrated chipsets can run Halo Custom Edition just fine.

Now, OP, figure out what sort of GPU you have and then post it here.

Wrong, halo runs awfully on most integrated graphics cards. Distorted colours, dire performance, and lack of pixel shading make playing almost unbearable.

In that case, let's just hope the OP isn't using an Intel chipset.

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

I seriously doubt that a Sandy Bridge's integrated chipset would break a sweat with Halo.

I used to play Halo 1 online with a single-core processor and 512 megabytes of ram with no problems.

Ha! I had the same setup back in 2003 - 2007. I was only on Medium graphics, but it still ran very well.

I suppose I just have high standards.

Dual core+ 2 gigabytes of ram does not equal high standards.

I was on the family computer and barely a teenager at the time I had that setup. I'm now 18 with a Radeon 6870, 8gb of RAM, and a Phenom II X6 1090T Processor. Trust me, I didn't have what I wanted, I had what I had and loved it for all I got.

Syx was using that four years ago. I was too. Even back then those standards would be considered low.

On topic post: The freezing between games as it loads the map is a pretty common issue, although it shouldn't happen too often. It's always been this way and there's no known solution or reason.

Whack ctrl+alt+delete, start the task manager, select halo.exe and end the task. If you're using XP, you'll likely need to switch to classic login for this to work. It's a real life saver for when full screen applications decide to hang.

I used to connect via remote desktop to force halo.exe to close rather than restart the machine. ;)

Wow thanks. I will try that, but is it the graphics card that causes it to freeze? I have a dell inspiron 1420 with vista, counter strike source and gmod run ok, but apparently halo doesn't. What do you think?

Probably not but I can't say with any real certainty.
