This thread went bad real fast...
I think it got better...

It went from some discussion that would just go round and round and may or may not receive an official answer to members of the community discussing the community.

All in all a good discussion imo.

I kind of agree with Skibur to an extent. I have a belief that respect should be gained and is not something that is a right. I will never look at someone's account age or title bar when forming an opinion. It is all about how they act...

You're never going to get acceptance by posting or quoting old memes that are from before your time and were never funny, in my opinion.

Know your place.
My opinion is that I disagree with your post. You should stop judging people by their age on bungie.net.
That's not it at all. I judge people based on how they behave.

If you're brand new but feel the need to post things you have no idea about in order to sound like you're "in" with the cool crowd, then you're a poser and you'll get no respect from me.

Someone could join tomorrow and have some sincere things to say and I'd respect him more than someone who's been here for 5 years.
On the other hand, if he spent his time trying to fit in through imitation or insincerity then it's going to be one step forward, two steps back in my opinion.

Believe it or not, I kind of understand where your coming from with this. I almost want to a agree with you due to that it would seem to make sense that you shouldn't be trying to "pose" yourself as someone who "knows" or is "in" on the joke/meme/crowd/ect.

People can attempt to fit to this community however they wish and, in my opinion, I have no clue why someone would judge them for that reason.

The same can be said for real world situations. Several members in a society (such as school students) would use any means to attempt to find someone to get along with, to make their time a lot easier- such as attempting to partake in discussion they do not know a whole heap about, begin to use jokes or ideas to make people laugh (even though they do not know the origin or if the joke is a bit silly).

The point is, people try to fit in both here and the outside world, because it would make their overall experience a lot more pleasurable and fun, which is something we all deserve- no matter how it is done.

If people and perhaps foremost the mods had stopped endorsing the lame behaviour of dropping bad jokes and memes, that werent funny the first time they were posted and sure as hell arent now, in every Septagon thread we wouldnt have had this discussion.

The sad part about it is that people more or less have to jump on the lame-o-wagon for a shot at mod. Personally I find the whole thing more annoying than comments such as "cOLD", "/thread" etc because the latter category is atleast not encouraging people to participate in pointless offtopic circle jerking.

And they should get rid of the yellow septagon.

That, or they heard about Foman's mom.

That's the only reason I'm here...
"Jokes" like these are one of the reasons I tend to avoid the main forums like the plague...
I hear Foman's mom should be avoided because she has the plague.
I lold. Good job.

Maybe they are just bored?

I highly doubt that since they're working on all of their secret projects. IMO they're just more active because Crimosn was just released.
