Yeah, spam is annoying and can bring an honest thread to it's end. You can report them, but responding isn't advised. To them, a response means you are giving them the attention they want. That is known as "feeding the trolls".

Don't feed the trolls.

I was a finalist :P

The problem is not the OP quoting and arguing with them, but less experienced people getting involved, which results in the tread going hypo- there are some people, however, who are willing to partake in discussion and ignore those trolls/spammers and, as a result, you should solely focus on them.

The concern there would be a ninja passing by and seeing way more spam posts than actual on-topic posts thus resulting in a lock due to a derailed thread.

Haven't there been occurrences where ninjas have banned the spammers, and allowed the thread to continue without locking?

I ain't gonna let a group of morons keep me from posting where I please. However that doesn't mean that I should have to be forced to deal with the crap. Yeah I posted at my own risk...but I posted knowing that there is an enforcement team out there to give these morons the ass whooping they deserve.

Amen to that! just keep reporting them, maybe you'll do us all a favor and get them banned =P

spam!
(just kidding)

I'm not arrogant, I'm just better than you.

I just get on with things and don't worry about it.

Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth, you'd get a lot of free games.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

Wait, you PMed a mod showing them the spam and they told you to ignore it?

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

:)
The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Depending on how interesting the thread is and how decided people are to argue it, it wont fall in spam.

But if it's a thread about pies, it's inevitable for spam not to triumph.

Hello! I'm Bunie.net's resident medical student (hell i'm sure there are more but I'm the only one who openly declares it!) I love my emblem, and I am periodically active.
I have a Twitter

Its hard to deal with, i mean, what do you do, some people would view it as harmless, and be like "WHY I GET BANNED FOR NOTHING?", others like you hate it.
Its a dilemma.

I've done this, and Yoozel was just all "Don't feed the trolls" when some douche was following me around and harassing me. He did get banned, eventually. I have seen instances where the Mod just ignores it, however.
