I'm sure most of you have created threads that have accumulated enough posts to be a 'Hot-Topic'. But what if that isn't enough? What if your aspiration is to create a 'Mega-Topic'? I think that Bungie should create a paper in an inferno to show that you have a so-called Mega-Topic which has 1000 posts. I think it will create an incentive to get a really popular thread. What do you think?

Key

The point of a thread is not to get it to be super popular or to be a Mega-Thread. You're supposed to create a thread to promote discussion. The hot topic is just to show that lots of people are currently involved in a particular discussion.

And why would we want the incentive to have a mega-thread? What's the incentive to providing an incentive to having a mega-thread? Maybe I'm just crazy but that's how I see it...

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

If your thread is good enough you wouldn't need a "mega-topic."

Hot Topic is good enough. Besides, not that many threads make it to 1000 posts.

I'm not saying that a thread should JUST be popular. I want it as an incentive to promote discussion by level of interest. I believe in quality over quantity and I'd like a thread that is very informative and carefully explained to see recognition with a different symbol.

Maybe not 1000, maybe like 500 or something like that.

You make too many threads. :)

I spend too much time here.. too much time indeed.

Huh?

Hello, I'm Mr AwesomePizza. I like pizza and I'm a man. Reasoning for the name. I like to listen to the classics of music, write poetry, play video games, and much much more. I'm always down for a nice chat, so please hit me up for some conversation.

Only about 2 threads a year get a thousand posts.
Why add more stuff if only a very small percentage would get it?

Why not stop by my File Share while you're here?

Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

No, and mega-topic doesn't even sound good. Also, maybe a couple threads a year actually reach that amount of posts.

This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends;
Not with a bang but a whimper.

If anyone beats the secret of sandtrap thread, then they get the emblem.

Not everyone is supposed to get it. It's like the title bar, mythic takes a long time to achieve. If you create something note worthy (much like that Christian allegory thread) you're bound to get many posts.
