Do Work Son!

You know im sure as do many other people one of my dreams is to work at Bungie. For one thing they are one of the best video game makers in the business and i love there games.

Im not sure what certain job i would want to do there, but I would like to work there. Anybody else have similar dream to work at bungie or what you would do there?

Pick a job, not a place. It doesn't do you any good to want to work at a certain place if you don't like the job there. Decide if you actually like any of the positions and are capable of meeting their high requirements. Then, and only then, decide if that is something you wish to pursue.

Definitely this ^

I've always wondered if the Janitors and whatnot of Bungie studios got recon and the flaming helmet and that stuff. Because technically they do work for Bungie. Take Jerome for an example, He works for Bungie as the security guard. Since he technically works for Bungie, would he get all the Exclusive Bungie in-game swag?

I would like to think that bungie treats all their members equally and im sure they do so they probably do.

I don't know about Jerome (though the following reasoning would technically include him), but someone at Bungie confirmed years ago on these forums that Janitors don't get Recon or the Flaming Helmet because Janitors don't help make the games.

I'm sure Jerome would. As far as Janitors go, I don't they do. I'm just guessing, but I don't Bungie employs actual janitors. They probably hired an independent cleaning company to clean their studios like every other night or something.

i do find it kind of hard to imagine some old guy mopping the floors at bungie not even knowing that they are one of the leading video game companys in the world.

Hello, I'm Mr AwesomePizza. I like pizza and I'm a man. Reasoning for the name. I like to listen to the classics of music, write poetry, play video games, and much much more. I'm always down for a nice chat, so please hit me up for some conversation.

When I was younger, yes.

It's probably better to work at a smaller company. Unless you think you've got the stuff to waltz right into that job on your first interview.

Couldn't stress that more. I mean, my example is, it's better to want to act than to want to be a famous actor. Bungie is an end goal (if anything) not a place aspire to get to.

If all you want is to work for Bungie then you won't go far but if you dream of being a graphic designer or something you won't have any problems. Walk before you can run and all that -blam!-.

Xbox Ambassador: Feel free to ask any questions you might have about a Xbox issue in a PM to me. I may be able to help!

I'm going to college in about 3 1/2 years. I will be working my way up to getting the requirements for "Server Programming" http://www.bungie.net/Inside/aboutus.aspx#16013

3+ years experience with C# and SQL Server.
Experience with .Net Web Services or WCF.
Experience writing and shipping production server code preferred.
Solid understanding of database performance and tuning.
Strong familiarity with Windows server platforms.
Ability to do self-directed work as well as work alongside a team of other developers.
Working knowledge of C++.
Passion for making great games.

I'll work on another website when I'm out of college and then I will get experience with .Net websites. After about 2-4 years of experience I will then sign up for an Application, and hope I get accepted to work on the website bungie.net.

Its better to burn out than fade away...

nothing comes easy....think about it ;)

not me, it would be great to work at bungie IF you were into the type of jobs it has to offer. as far as games go? love them. as far as designing games and websites go? not my thing at all.

If you plan on becoming a web designer or a game designer, working at bungie would be amazing!

I would like to work there as well. Maybe a network engineer if that position is still open.

  • 09.02.2011 5:50 PM PDT

I was thinking about this just yesterday. I would love to be a level designer, and doing that at Bungie would be amazing. I am hoping to get the skills I need, but I doubt I will ever end up working at Bungie...
