Subject: Banned because of my Son

"No soldier should be honored for doing what is expected"
- Master Chief Petty Officer John-117 -

So I have Thursdays and Fridays off and today I decided maybe Ill play some Reach. Jump on and see that Ive been struck by the Ban Hammer. So I think Wait I havent played since Bungie Day. So I go and check my stats and sure enough someone went on the 27th and 28th of August and played. I go to work at 8am and I remember my son being awake on those days but he was chilling out playing with something else not on the Xbox when I left.
While I dont know how long the ban is Im wondering how I should discipline my son. My profile is password protected I changed it today after finding out but what more should I do
Should I take his profile and put it on a flash drive and keep him from trying to play his games while locking all the rest
Does anyone know another tip on how to keep him locked up
I'm not worried about the ban I don't want him playing Halo because hes only 7. I have to be responsible this way when he shoots up a school later in life I know I cant say Hey man it wasn't my ass I blame Rap Music

Do you like Yax? I do.

Bungie is no longer managing the Halo Universe. While our Halo-related forums and stats remain available, be advised that "official" answers and support about the Halo Universe (past, present, or future) are not.

Use parental controls.

“Oh, it’s a little bit of everything, it’s the mountains, it’s the fog, it’s the news at six o’clock, it’s the death of my first dog, it’s the angels up above me, it’s the song that they don’t sing, It’s a little bit of everything.”
- Dawes, A little bit of everything

Take the Xbox to work with you.

Seriously, just unplug all the cables and leave then where the Xbox was so it's easy to set it back up again. One thing to note though, make sure there's no disk in the drive when you move it. Then just leave the Xbox in the car.

What are we supposed to be discussing here?

"Nothing in the 'Verse can stop me."

If everyone and their mother got leniency because their son/brother/cousin/dog played on their account and mucked something up then there would be a lot of cheaters not getting what they deserve.

Sorry, there is no exception to this. Your best bet is to deal with your "son" yourself and punish him as he has got you punished. Your best bet is to use proper parental controls that all accounts can have.

With the parental controls you can set a passcode for his account as well as restrict which games he can play (by not allowing certain game ratings). This should be more than enough to keep him from playing games without your permission and such.

Anything else (like keeping it on a flashdrive) is just overkill/extra security.

I like shorts. They're comfy and easy to wear.

Flay him with the HDMI cable.

Did you ask him what he did to get banned? That would be the first thing to do.

Secondly, there are cords in the back of the xbox you can remove and hide to prevent any unwanted access.

If you don't want to mess with cables, I think there is a 4-button pass code you can set to lock and unlock the Xbox or something.

That wouldn't do anything at all, he can simply recover it back on the Xbox's HDD.

Also, Bungie is no longer the owner of any Halo game in the franchise. So if you want to ask any questions go over to 343industries website http://www.halo.xbox.com/

I I had a doller for every time I heard this excuse

Its better to burn out than fade away...

nothing comes easy....think about it ;)

strangle him with a scartlead, then proceed to beat him with the xbox controller.

if thats to much just ask him how he managed to get banned and what not... then let him know it was wrong in a KIND way but be firm.

if he disobeys again, ban him from playing xbox

Your XBOX is your responsibility. No one else can be blamed but your self for letting your son be on it.

XBL: l Sonic l
PSN: Sonic_343

So, your seven year old managed to figure out your Xbox password and managed to do something to get you banned. And because he got your account banned, he's going to shoot up a school, and the whole reason all of this happened is being blamed on rap music.

That was, by far, the worst excuse I have ever heard for anything.

He's 7, calm down.

Make him his own Gamertag and let him play however he wants.

  • 09.02.2011 6:21 PM PDT

You can always change his profile to a kids account and block things.

Does anyone even read these?

Have you tried tying him to a chair and locking him in his room?
