we are having a discussion in the halo 2 forum about halo 2 being online or not and how that effects the whole halo community.

I think having halo 2 online on xbl actually helped sales of new titles and others are arguing they spent more money because halo 2 went down (sort of like saying a sad community actually gave more money).

I'm wondering what the whole halo community thinks of this issue.

I would love to obtain a new title, though, I would not pay for one?

Make the Halo 2 Online an arcade game. Problem solved.

cars, girls & cake all day everyday

New Halo titles?
I'm pretty sure most everyone who's joined after 2008 has not played Halo 2 online. And if they have, it was during the OMG HALO 2 SHUTDOWN D: phase, which doesn't count.

Halo 2 for Life!

leaving the option open for those players that never played halo 2 to play halo 2 would have added to the enjoyment of those in the community regardless if they played it before or not from my point of view.

I agree, although profit to Microsoft would likely be non-existent because hardly anyone sells new Halo 2 games anymore, except for users in online stores.

Also I meant my post that's typoed, not that other guy I was replying to.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Ohh Man, the thread title was soooo misleading.

you never liked halo 2 in the first place I'm assuming... the title is the question the post content is a example of my point of view on the question.

You have it wrong. Recently this forum has been consumed with "member titles" so when you said "community" and "title" in the header... i had thought the worst.

However you make an interesting point.

That just seems silly.
