New Alexandria. You have to escort him to a certain building.

Then he shows up again in ODST

JUN either stayed with Halsey and Lived or He resumed fighting the enemy covenant forces in active combat. Since babysitting while the planet is at war seems absurb, then it is likely that he died. It is not impossible that he lived, just unlikely. Perhaps future books or revelation of the halo universe will make things clear.

Rev.6-8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

Yes, it is true that there is no hard proof evidence that Jun is dead, but the evidence that we do have suggests that he most likely is dead; or a story would exist somewhere telling that he did make it off Reach. Can we please find somthing else to discuss.

*hopes that Ermey does not see this thread other wise*
Is that you JUN wayne, is this me

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

Those are the only ships we know that fled Reach. Other ships could've aswell. obviously Buck got off Reach, so more than just those 2 ships left.

Or Buck left Reach before the second assault on SWORD Base.

When I started this thread a couple of days ago, I never expected to get up to and past 200 replies.

Although most of it was a fight between me and a couple of other people it was still fun to hear all of the answers that people gave me.

Although what I said was true, I have now realized that there is not that much potential to this thread. It is only a two answer question.

Hearing all of the theories about how he died, or how he lived have been centered around those two said answers.

Now even though my provoking and (in some areas) lack of knowledge has caused much of the ongoing fight, I still have to say that I am very sastified with it all.

If your wondering why I am posting is to give a accurate account of what happened to Jun S-266 as far as the two theories go.

In 2552, the Covenant, an alien race that the Human race has been at war with for quite some time has secretly took out Visegrad Relay Outpost. Visegrad Relay was one of the main communication outpost for ONI and UNSC operations on the colony world of Reach. Visegrad was a vital rescource for the UNSC on Reach.

The the real cause of the outpost going dark was believed to be rebel forces, not the Covenant. Colonel Urban Holland sent in a team of Elite Spartans, Noble Team, to investigate not only Visegrad's state of being offline, but also to investigate a group of missing troopers (3 Charlie 6).

Noble Team was a group of Spartan IIIs from Alpha Comapany.

UNSC and ONI find out the cause for the deactivation of Visegrad was Covenant forces via contact from Noble Team's leader Carter-Sierra 259.

Jun S-266 and Noble 6 B-312 then while doing a Recon Operation to find out why in entire area around Visegrad communication was almost uncapable of doing, find a entire Covenant invasion army on Reach's surface.

After a few days, the Fall of New Alexandria, the deaths of Jorge, and Kat (members of Noble Team), and the loss of ONI's mysterious Swordbase as well as its secret discovery of a ancient Forerunner computer the remaining members of Noble find themselves delievering Cortana to the Pillar of Autumn.

However, Carter orders Jun to escort Doctor Catherine Halsey, the creator of Cortana and the head of the research going on at Swordbase, to Castle Base.

Castle Base is a very well protected ONI base built into Menachite Mountain. Originally a titanium mine until it was close down after miners breached a Forerunner complex.

This is where the spectualtion of Jun's fate begins and as far as Halo Canon goes (as far as specifics).

It is very possible that Jun died when ever the Covenant began glassing Reach and attempted to access Castle Base. According to First Strike I believe, the SPARTANS (which may have included Jun) and ONI blew up Castle Base. Jun might have died as he escaped or in the battle short before.

On the other hand. It is very likely that some of the SPARTANS survived until the end which means that Jun might have survived as well.

This is as far as I go with this, but honestly many people including Halonation ((halo.wikia.com)which list Jun as still active after 2552) believe that it is very likely that Jun had survived the Glassing of Reach.

It is still just as likely that he didn't survive which many people believe also.

It really depends on your opinion about whether he is alive or not. Nothing canon has ever specifically said Jun is dead by 2553, or alive by 2553.

There is the possiblilty that he will make a cameo in Halo Four at some point. Then again, mabey the mystery of Jun's disappearence was one not meant to be answered.

That's all I have to say for now. I believe he is alive. DeceptionCobra and others believe he is dead, but for now I guess we will never know.

Haters are going to hate.
Praisers are going to praise.

The Bungie Forums are what keeps my mind sharp and my fingers active, between writing my own movie scripts, drawing, and studying industrial design. At the moment I'm working on miniatures for a short movie that I'll hopefully be able to film once I've saved up for a camera... That's me, with the mug, trying to have a conversation with Konoko.

Halo: TFoR
Halo: First Strike
Halo: Ghosts of Onyx

All were made by the same author Eric Nylund. First Strike is important because it still deals with Reach, particularly the scenes with Halsey IN CASTLE Base. The recent re-release of it makes no mention of Jun.

Seriously, please try to make sense.

I agree, Jun most likely died somewhere on Reach, probably protecting Halsey, but... Just as The Piller of Autumn never was in atmoshpere on Reach in TFoR, future Halo content might just as well give Jun a backstory. Not saying they will, but just look at Stg Johnson...

There were some dead in the water with active Slipspace deives, but i doubt if Jun had the tech knowlage to get one working again, so, as cool as he is, he's likly dead.

Besides there were too many ships in orbit for Jun to ever get close to one of the inactive ships, he was propably blasted to bits by a sarph

go to halo.wikia.com, its apperantly called Halonation now instead of Halopedia.

Also its not excatly a made up source, they cant put what ever they want on that site and it not being taken down in a fews days.

Its not like they can put Jun's service tag as 117 and it not get corrected. They all check with canon sources to put together their articles.

Its just wikipedia, no matter what teachers say, its not all made up.

So I would deeply consider it a source of info... prove me wrong?

Yeah, Halsey left, but Jun didn't. You ever wonder why he is on the Memorial Statue? In the canon, a similar Memorial Statue resides in a rebuilt New Alexandria. He's on it.

Thats your reasoning, Here is the problem though, you say why give him a statue if he didn't die... But wait! Thats right, Spartans can't die, non ever had, non ever will. Rule one of Spartans, they never die.

Why in the name of god would they put a statue of Jun if he had died if he couldn't die. Even if he was confirmed KIA, the UNSC and ONI would have never thrust that into public eye now would they have?

I mean look at the statue with four soldiers putting up a flag, that doesn't mean those men were KIA, does it?

They probaly put that up just to honor Noble Team, the reason Jun is on there and not the other Nobles, well mabey its because the other Nobles were confirmed KIA so they couldn't have that.

What I am getting at is, they wouldn't put confirmed KIA Spartans on that memorial, but Jun wasn't comfirmed KIA, just MIA, which suggest he is still alive.

Also, they put up a memorial for John 117 like Weylander said. We all know John 117 wasn't killed. There is your ace in the hole right there...

Memorial for John 117: John 117, not dead.
Memorial for Jun 266: Jun 266, MIA.

In the book however, it states that aside from John-117, there are other spartans. These spartans are no longer capable of coming back into contact with humans anymore as they were -SPOILER ALERT- "teleported" to some dimension. That's what i'm figuring. IF i i can remember, i can think Dr. Halsey went with them as well. Its been a while, but i felt i needed to add that.

Her, Red or Blue team (can't remember), and some of the Spartan 3s went into a Forerunner Shield world.

I do know that yes they die, I mean Reach's campaign made us watch 5 Spartans die. I just mean from a propaganda veiw that no Spartan dies

He died , its confirmed by a dude who found a bunch of names in ODST. It says like: In memory of those who defended reach or something...

Junes name was on it =(

That was a memorial plaque for ONI personnel who died. Jun is not the only human being with Jun as a first name in the entirety of human space. Also keep in mind that Spartans only get listed as MIA, not KIA.

But it was him cant remember junes last name but they were the same..

Let it go..... Hes gone...

What a waste....

The Legendary Edition commentary says he survives. Also, I don't think MS or 343 would throw away an open end for a new game.
