Subject: If Master Chief and the Arbiter fought to the death, who would win?

Generalizations.
Helping idiots hate other idiots since people have existed.

Depends; Are they equipped with weapons or Hand-to-Hand combat? Cuz Spartans have much more musclepower than an Elite due to their augmentations.

However, put them in say a Sword v Sword fight, and the Arbiter may come out on top due to him having much more experience with said weapon.

Give them respective weapons, IE Chief gets human weapons and Arby gets alien weapons.... I think Chief would win, simply cuz the alien weapons suck da big one.

There is no possible way Master Chief weighs 390 friggen pounds, if Jorge is twice his size and weighs 320.

I'd give MC 270 pounds, not even. He's too slim/lean.

What exactly do you mean by saying that Jorge is "twice his size"? Jorge has a lot of clutter on his armour making him look bigger than he actually is.

John being 390lbs has been known since the Halo 3 limited edition, and the visual guide affirms it. To say otherwise is to say "I know better than the writers and deny their canon by substituting my own fabricated one".

The Halo series was my first and favorite FPS series.
I enjoy most games throughout all systems despite what some people say.

Oh, and on the forums, I tell it like it is, like it or not.

I would hope Arbiter, but so many of them have been killed by other spartans...

Again, density does not equal physical size. You can weigh more and not show it in your size as long as you are made from denser meterails. I think the augmentations made the Spartans bones and muscle denser. This means they weigh much more and don't show it.

Sometimes I play Halo alllllll.....day
Sometimes I feel like a Hamburger.
Difference?
NONE AT ALL NOOB!

Not necessarily, Elites and Spartans have equal strength, Regular Humans....they would suck in a firefight, also what your saying about the covenant weapons is....well you sir have learnt this from a Xbox 360 game....now lets imagine it in real life they have plasma guns and -blam!- and we have guns that go pew pew and stuff but they got the fuel rod and the plasma launcher....and aliens that are trained to use it.

If Halo was real life we would be wiped out....games just make it so that the good guys always win.

Read Fall of Reach, it specifically says he is 130 kg.

Bestiarium. Visual Guide. Affirmed retcon. Get over it.

And what page in TFoR?

In his armor, Chief would weigh over 1000 pounds. Without armor, he weights 360 pounds. He weighs so much because of the augmentations he underwent to become a Spartan. George would have a similar weight.

Technically, NOBLE Team members would also weigh 1000 pounds in their armor, but considerably less without it. Yes, they are Spartan 3's, but NOBLE Team was issued the MJOLNIR armor (which is extremely heavy).
The average Spartan 3 wears a different set of armor called SPI armor, which is far less powerful.

This guy is right though. He is in fact right that in TFoR it states Chief is 130kg. Now I don't know if the Bestiarium trumps TFoR in canon so correct me if that is the case.

TFoR page 217

"It was hard to mistake the Master Chief for anything other then a Spartan. He stood just over two meters tall and weighed in at 130 kilos of rock hard muscle and iron-dense bone."

This is OBVIOUSLY outside MJOLNIR.

So if the Bestiarium trumps TFoR in canon weight then fair play but just because this guy is using information that has been changed for no reason it's not his fault he still thinks TFoR is right.

It depends on how you view the Book re-issues; whether they are "new canon" or not. Within specific canon tiers, new trumps old. So new games trump older games, new books (Or new published media) trump older books but books can never trump games as they are in different tiers, no matter how new the book is and how old the game is - unless the writers specifically say that it is a retcon.

But as they are both published media, and as the Bestiarium came out with Halo 3 whilst TFoR came out in 2001, Bestiarium would be the new canon. But like I said, it depends if you view the new TFoR issue (The Tor print) as being like a new book that would trump all the others in terms of latest canon.

In the end it doesn't matter though, because the Essential Visual Guide, that was released last month, affirms the number that the Bestiarium gave for John.

I did say though that the Visual Guide ultimately affirmed it, with the Bestiarium only being secondary evidence.

I think that it would be an even match, although Master Chief would turn out better than the Arbiter, because Chief has Cortana helping him.

thats a good point. More context is needed like what kind of weapons and equipment (if any) they are using eg cortana

MasterCheif duh but i think the battle it selt could blow a hole into the vortex of infinity to destroy the entire universe!

Fair play dude. I understand what you mean. In that case I guess John's weight has indeed been changed. Cheers for clearing that up for me (and hopefully the other guy).

Hmm, I'll stick with logic and my obviously better understanding of it than the orangutans that wrote the 'bestiary' (the correct grammatical term).

If a fully armored spartan is equal to an unarmored Elite zealot than how do people beat campaign on legendary????

You can still have well trained elite minors? You've got to remember all elites are fairly well trained.

Then you are ignorant to the Elites, the physical makeup, and their culture. The Elites' culture revolves around unarmed combat, not to mention they are physically larger and more powerful than an unarmed SPARTAN II. A fully armored SPARTAN is about equal with an unarmored Elite zealot.

Jai vs Thel ended in a tie(Basically, but Jai decided to leave) and he was only wearing Mark IV armor. Msrk VI(The type John wears) has shields twice that in strength of Mark V and 5x the armor density. It also probably gives greater boosts to his physical capabilities aswell.
