Show Faith/Defy Fate

It just seems that way when I look at it. It seems like most of his achievements and accomplishments as a SIII are just to make the player feel more mysterious and badass. He/she doesnt seem like an actual character to me.

Maybe if Bungie had given him a name and more backstory. Anyway idk, its just my opinion. What do you guys think?

I agree with what you are saying, but I like the way they implemented it. This way each player can play their own spartan in the campaign as a way to become more immersed in it. However, they could have still added some background to give the character more weight.

Six has a pretty varied backstory already. Eliminator of entire rebel groups, personal assassin for a high ranking ONI official, Ackerson I believe, pilot in the Sabre Program. Six has done some memorable things.

What does she have to say? Six is essentially the ideal Spartan ONI would want, speaks little, obedient, and multi-functional.

I do not appreciate B.Net Group solicitation. If you ignore this and send me an invitation anyway, I will block communications with you.

I honestly hate it, and I also hate that 343i seems to think that they need to retain some of that quality for Master Chief in the new trilogy. I absolutely hated that John didn't say more. I want to connect with his character and Cortana's relationship with him, and the experience as seen through his eyes.

If I wanted to live my own story I would write my own story. Sure, it's nice to feel like I am the Chief... but you don't do that by minimizing his character development.

Reach annoyed me in general because the characters were all new; I was expecting us to play as other Spartan-IIs, Red Team in particular. Having Noble Six alongside a bunch of other fresh faces deafened the annoyance of not playing as a well-defined character, but it was still a little disappointing.

Well, I'd rather have the six new characters than 30+ nameless Spartans who I'll never see again.

The little backstory given to Noble Six was pretty bad-ass to me?

I think it would have been better for Noble Six to say more stuff, I'm not really complaining he didn't. In all honesty, I wasn't a big fan of the voice =/ I would have said though that from a tactical point of view, all of the Spartans should have been communicating more.

In the books, the Spartans didn't say an awful lot, they mainly used acknowledgement lights or something that they could see on their huds/MJOLNIR armor

Well when I say 'communicate', I mean more than simply talking. In the books, as well as the lights and hud, they used quite a few hand gestures and made use of certain formations. In the game, it's like years of training only taught them how to fire a rifle.

I'm not saying they add in a special formation or hand gesture for every situation, but mainly when it matters. There aren't that many situations where you have the whole of Noble Team with you after all.

And while there would have been nothing to stop the player from leaving the team behind and doing their own thing, it would have been nice nonetheless. My thoughts in a post anyway :)
